Are chlorine tablets safe to use in pool when pregnant?

Sorry, I can’t find the answer on google. I know it’s fine to swim in a chlorinated swimming pool when pregnant, but we have just bought an 8 foot paddling/swimming pool for the garden and DH wants to buy chlorine tablets to add to it to keep it clean and there’s something about that that’s making me feel worried! I don’t know if I’m just being a worrier or not so I thought I’d see if anyone knows anything about it. I’m 9 weeks pregnant. Thanks so much

Totally fine so long as you get the amount right and get the testing strips etc.

Great thank you! I didn’t realise you could get testing strips, that will make me feel so much better! Thanks so much

Be careful on dosage. My 8mx4m pool uses one chlorine tablet in the filter every three or four days. I think for a paddling pool you just dump half the water every few days and refill.

Too much chlorine can be dangerous - pregnant or not. Read and follow the instructions carefully.
