Stuffy nose and nosebleeds?

Has anyone else been getting these? I've had a really stuffy nose and sinus headaches since about 12 weeks (I'm 15 weeks now). I've also had a few nosebleeds recently. It's my first baby and I wondered if this was normal... I'm going to ask the midwife at my next call but I was hoping for some reassurance!

I had a stuffy nose through both my pregnancies. I used breathe right strips at night so I could get some sleep

Yes I've had this since first being pregnant, now 21 weeks, it's driving me mad! I wake up every morning with a blocked nose then if I blow it starts bleeding and it takes ages to feel like I can breathe properly again. Look up pregnancy rhinitis!

I just spoke to my midwife about it this morning. I’m 29+4 it’s called rhinitis

Hi, I had lots of nose bleeds threw my pregnancy, but midwife wasn't concerned, they disappeared as soon as I had my little girl. Smile

It's really common to have a stuffy and bloody nose in pregnancy. There is reassuring info about it on the NHS website (google 'nose bleeds in pregnancy').

My nose was stuffy for months and would bleed when I blew it in the mornings. It eased up for me about half way through but I noticed it was bloody again just this morning (I'm 37 weeks now).

It's nothing to worry about x

Thanks all! That's reassuring. I had looked on the NHS website but it's good to hear other people's personal experiences too. Good advice about the breathing strips - it's really bothering me at night.

I have this too. My nose gets blocked especially at night when I'm lying down. It's annoying having to breath through my mouth. When I blow my nose in the morning there is blood on the tissue sometimes. I'm 28 weeks.

Yes, loads of nosebleeds for me too

mrs87 · 26/05/2020 18:30

Since about 10 weeks! I'm 25 weeks now. I've learned to live with it! Really stuffy nose, worse at night. No actual nosebleeds but bloody, crusty bogies (sorry that's disgusting and TMI but can't think of a nice way to phrase it 😂) most of the day. Pleasant!

Bellsx · 26/05/2020 19:43

Yes since the beginning! Stuffy, blocked nose and nose bleeds mainly when blowing my nose with a blocked ear as well which is the most annoying part.

buffalopuff · 26/05/2020 20:51

Haha @mrs87 don't worry - I know exactly what you mean. I've been having the same! I thought it might go away but it sounds as if it won't...

I'm 17 weeks and thinking of changing my middle-name to 'bunged up'.. had bad hay fever as it is but this is taking the biscuit a bit. No nose bleeds but I'm blowing my nose so hard there's blood in my snot 👌🏻👌🏻 joys of pregnancy
