Hi, is anyone able to confirm if I can eat oyster sauce will pregnant?
Some online say NO WAY because of msg or raw extracts of oyster & some say yes in small doses.
I’ve put this in a stir fry.

I can't see any reason why you can't eat oyster sauce when pregnant. Enjoy your dinner!

You’re going to cook it in the stir fry so it won’t be raw. Do the ones from a supermarket, as opposed to a takeaway, even contain MSG? Regardless I don’t think it’s on the list of foods to avoid. If in the UK then refer to the NHS guidance. Stay off random websites as some of the American advice is differs because of different food standards. For example sushi because the fish might not be deep frozen like in the U.K. or undercooked eggs because not all Americans chicken are vaccinated against salmonella.

I've had to research this before as well and it's fine. There's not enough oyster in the sauce to really present any risk from shellfish. It is true you should avoid MSG but that's just for health reasons, and most supermarket oyster sauce doesn't even include it.

Thanks all! Phew.. I had already cooked it before giving it a second thought and really couldn’t bare going back into the kitchen Sad
