I had it last night, and now this morning it’s there when I put some tissue up. What’s going on I’m freaking out :(

My boobs also hurt less this morning. :(

I am so confused as I had a scan yesterday and heartbeat was 170. Could it happen that quick?

I also had a severe headache yesterday.

Please help x

Did you have an transvaginal scan? I have also experienced some brown spotting after ultrasound and all seems to be okay, currently 11 weeks, last had a scan at 10 weeks

KateJ59 · 25/05/2020 10:18

No this one was an abdominal scan. Should I be worried? X

I had spotting at 7 weeks, pink and brown first, then brown the next day. I had a scan and all was well. I continued to have bits of fragmented brown for a few days after and then it stopped thankfully and I'm 12 weeks tomorrow. A scan means you know everything is in the right place and a heartbeat is a a good sign. Are you using progesterone pesseries? They can cause brown spotting as they irritate the cervix. If it gets heavier or you get cramps it might be good to call the EPU for advice.

I had IVF and had spotting like this just before my reassurance scan in the waiting room I was nearly hysterical thinking it would be an awful outcome but when I went into the nurse she said a little brown spotting is often as a result of the placenta bedding in, I had my scan and all was ok. My DD woke from her nap 10 mins ago and decided to pull my hair and headbutt me hope yours is equally affectionate Grin

Tbug · 25/05/2020 15:33

Don't want to be negative but I had this after a healthy scan and everyone kept telling me it was normal, demanded a scan and it was bad news. Trust your instinct, everything probably is okay, but try and demand to be checked out xxx

Rubyroost · 25/05/2020 15:41

I don't think there is an instinct when you spot stuff like this. For me, I would often assume the worst regardless, many do. Optimists may be different. There's no way of knowing really. Spotting and bleeds are more common in pregnancy than you realise and range from absolutely nothing, to something but everything is okay and pending miscarriage. Spotting would usually be followed by cramps if miscarriage. I wish you well and fingers crossed it is nothing. X

Tbug · 25/05/2020 16:12

Im simply saying that try and get checked because every single person told me it was normal, I didn't have cramps xx

Rubyroost · 25/05/2020 17:32

@Tbug yes agree, people told you it was normal because generally people want to relieve anxiety. But yes, you're right it could go either way.

Tbug · 25/05/2020 17:43

Yeah as I said, im sure it is all ok but just worth checking if you can.

AlviesMam · 25/05/2020 18:53

I had brown discharge for three days after an abdominal scan. Brown blood is old blood probably dislodged from the pressure. Try not to worry , my EPU told me to ignore it x

KateJ59 · 25/05/2020 20:38

Thanks all.

It's got less and less throughout the day. I went for an hour long walk before and came back worried to wee and it was actually gone. Unless I put a tiny bit of tissue up, there was a tiny bit.

My boobs are hurting again this eve and I feel exhausted, I am in bed already.

The scan I had just yesterday was a healthy and fast heartbeat, no uterine bleeding either. So fingers crossed this was just old blood. 🙏❤️

That's good 🥰💕

skinnyhotchoc · 25/05/2020 22:13

Sometimes it's ok and sometimes it's not. I've had both scenarios. If it gets worse or red ask to be seen but normally the nhs won't rescan for two weeks

Natt99 · 26/05/2020 08:05

Hope you're doing ok op. I'm 10 weeks and had brown spotting on Sunday. I was really concerned so was luckily was able to book a private scan that day. Also felt like my symptoms had gone as no more sore boobs and no nausea. Everything was fine though and baby even waved at us. They said it's really common and your body getting rid of old blood, likely caused by a bike ride I did the day before. They said to expect it up to 15 weeks!
Everyone is different though and as others have said it was unfortunately a bad outcome. EPU won't usually scan you unless you have pain or red bleeding so the best bet might be more private scans, costly but good if it puts your mind at rest.

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 26/05/2020 08:08

Sure all is fine - it’s relatively normal to have spotting early doors. I had it both times around that stage. I think if it’s brown then it’s often related to implantation. Always good to get some reassurance from your midwife though

Chatbash72 · 31/05/2020 08:31

Sorry to jump onto the thread, am 7 weeks +1 ( just ) and had a small bit of spotting yesterday.. was gardening.. then some more this morning.. pale pink.. am stressing but know I can't change the outcome if all is going to go away.. haven't yet called the drs for my midwife checking in app... late time I was preg they called after miscarriage happened.. but might ring them tomorrow.. our scan dept wasn't particularly helpful last time..

KateJ59 · 31/05/2020 08:51

Hey @Chatbash72 - just to let you know mine did stop after about 5 days and even in the last few it was so light barley there. Don't worry unless it's red and accompanied by BAD cramping. I also went for scan with my gyno on Thursday, all looked fine and he said that it is normal to have a bit of spotting around this time. Fingers crossed everything goes to plan for us all. I would maybe go and get an early scan to reassure you. Really hope it stops for you ❤️

@KateJ59 thank you, not sure our scan dept do them, I had to wait ages for one last time.. 🥺

KateJ59 · 31/05/2020 09:01

@Chatbash72 where are you in UK? You can book a private scan, it costs but if you can, it will reassure you until the official NHS scan. I went to a place called window to the womb x

Thanks @KateJ59 yes in the uk, I'm ring the drs tomorrow morning to let them know I'm preg and see where we go from there... xx

Chatbash72 · 01/06/2020 11:21

Spotting was all quiet yesterday but this morning 🥺 it's much heavier.. rung drs, told to ring maternity, bounced around the switchboard but lovely lady said ring drs.. so have to wait till 2 before I can ring as all phone appointments are gone.. 🥺🥺 not hopeful that it's just some bleeding.. well my silver lining is that I made it to 7 weeks.. 😥
