I have a 12 week scan on the 4th of next month..
I'm just wondering how much will a scan photo cost as it says that I will have to pay for a photo?
Thank you x

Free at the moment (as partners can't attend) but normal £5 for 4 prints I think

Pinktruffle · 24/05/2020 22:22

I was told to bring money for mine last week but was given my photo for free. It did say on the info they gave me that scan photos are normally £5

lockdownpregnancy · 24/05/2020 22:28

Both my 12 & 20 week scan photos were free, as partners can't attend with you still.
I was given 4 photos per scan

Peachy200 · 24/05/2020 22:31

As far as I’m aware they’re currently only free in certain places. Prices also very depending on what hospital.
I still had to pay and it was £4 for one photo, or £12 for 4. Not cheap!

Crazymummyto3 · 24/05/2020 22:41

I was given mine for free as they weren't allowing partners, otherwise it's £5 for two here.

Seaglasss · 24/05/2020 22:44

Ours are given online and are £10 per photo

CrumpetsAndPuzzles · 24/05/2020 22:45

Same here - free at the moment for £5 otherwise.

wannabebump · 24/05/2020 22:45

My trust usually charges but is providing one photo for free because of covid situation. However, there isn't an option to buy any duplicates for parents or more from the scan - it was just the one the Sonographer picked

FudgeFlies · 24/05/2020 23:50

£5 per photo, they didn’t waive the fee due to covid :(

DappledThings · 25/05/2020 09:01

Massive variation across trusts. There's no standardisation of it.

Mine used to have a machine where you paid some price, can't remember what, for 2 or 4 prints and got a token but they never asked for it and just gave you 4 anyway. I didnt want to pay it because I don't like scan photos anyway but DH did and was delighted to get twice as many as he paid for.

2 years later they had stopped printing entirely and just let you take photos of the screen close up a few times.

I think it depends on the hospital. I never had to pay for my scans at London UCLH (scans this year in feb and march before Covid started.

Bubblesbebe · 25/05/2020 09:12

Sorry, I meant to say I never had to pay for my scans pictures.

At our hospital it is normally £2.50 a photo, but for both my 12 and 20 weeks scans we got ours for free, I think due to the Covid situation and that they are getting you in and out as quickly as possible.

At my 12 week scan my DH was a still allowed in (this was the 1st week of lockdown). They didn’t get a great picture (it was quite dark) but said it was the best he could do since they are not spending loads of time getting a great photo since they don’t want you to be there longer than necessary. This did irritate me a bit since we did see some great images during the scan that would have been better.

Had my 20 week scan last week and DH was not allowed to come with me this time. Again, got the photo for free, but again not a great photo. Not the sonographers fault though, baby was in a weird position with his butt in the air and head hiding in the shadows, didn’t even look like a baby, looked more like a lemon in the photo 😂

BuffaloCauliflower · 25/05/2020 10:06

£3 per picture in my trust, you have to bring coins. I still had to pay even though DH couldn’t attend. They did offer for me to film a bit of scan which I know most trust’s are not allowing. Lots of variation.

Superscientist · 25/05/2020 10:16

£3.50 a photo at my hospital even with partners not allowed - the machine only excepted exact change or card payments. The price was on my appointment letter/leaflet

Foreverblowingbubbles18 · 25/05/2020 10:26

Mine weren't free even though partners can't attend and they were £5 per photo!

bee222 · 25/05/2020 10:28

3 for £10 at my hospital

Prettylittlelady · 25/05/2020 10:29

Mine weren’t free - it was 1 for £5, 2 for £8 I think.

Hannahlou2020 · 25/05/2020 14:15

I'm just going to take some money just incase..
Anyone here from liverpool had to pay? They have sent me to yewtree medical center instead of the woman's hostpital. It just said if you wish to have a scan photo you will have to pay.
Thanks
