I have put on far too much weight during first trimester due to eating a constant stream of plain carbs to attempt to help with sickness. Now I'm starting to feel better I'd like to loose a bit before even more goes on due to baby. Has anyone managed this SENSIBILY with their pregnancies?

Yes definitely. Just cut out the crap and reduce your carbs. No need to stop them but reduce and make sure you use whole meal bread, pasta and brown rice. But it is possible. Eat tonnes of veg and good protein. Also Greek yogurt and eggs.

Thanks for the advice @bestbe, I'm definitely going to do it, none of my clothes are fitting and it's nothing to do with the stomach area!

Exercise! That's what worked for me. I swam every day for an hour but walking would be just as good.

Also portion control. It's amazing how much bigger my portion sizes have got over the years with DH. I've taken to weighing my pasta and rice etc just to see what is normal/ recommended rather than just guessing by eye.
