Hi all

I know theres nothing I can do but feeling super anxious. I had diarrhea yesterday evening and some vaginal discharge with some bright red blood streaks in it. Today I have had dark brown discharge and even a couple of what could be tiny blood clots? It's not so much as to be on my underwear yet but is there when I wipe and I feel like a heavy dull ache almost in my uterus. I don't know if I'm being overly sensitive. Midwife has said to wait and see if turns into period like flow and if so to go to a and e but id really rather not go a and e in this current climate.

Guess I'm just looking for advice on how long it'll be to develop if it is a MC and if anyone has been through similar and it worked out ok?? :(

Hi everyone, so sorry you’re going through this stress - I really feel for you all. Early pregnancy is a real strain mentally, I hated it.

To give you some hope though - I had brown/pink/red discharge on and off throughout my first pregnancy, starting at 7 weeks and right through to 20 weeks. When I wiped but also often staining pad and knickers, sometimes quite a lot. I nearly had a nervous breakdown, was often in the EPAU and paid for a lot of private scans!! I had a cervical erosion and a subchrorionic haematoma, which both could have caused it (lucky me Grin). But baby was absolutely fine and is now running riot at two years old.

Violetlilac · 21/05/2020 14:38

@yellowbelliedcreature that is super helpful thank you!I am wondering if it's to do with my cervix as I was having investigations and I know I have cervical erosion.

I am just praying and hoping to get through the next couple of weeks without the worst happening then I will push for an early scan or go get one myself.

@Coffeecup01 oh sweetheart I'm so sorry you're going through this. Will keep you in prayer. It's the waiting and not knowing that's the hardest isn't it! I've prayed that if the pregnancy isn't going to stick I will quickly have an obvious flood rather than this unknown dribs and drabs. It seems better today but can take weeks I know and at 5 weeks there's not much that can be done. Just waiting as time crawls by and holding my breath everytime I go to the toilet! This pregnancy was a surprise so I won't be trying again for a long time if the worst happens. Is so hard not knowing if I can commit to thinking about baby or need to focus on other possibilities. Like there are two paths ahead and I don't know which is the one that will happen

@violetlilac yes ours wasn't planned, but it's made us realise that we want another one, so if the worst is happening, then we've said we'll wait a couple months to let me recover, then we'll try again. Age isn't on my side as i'm 38. I'm very lucky to have two beautiful children, so they are making me smile today and I'm trying to keep positive. Hope the next couple of weeks goes well for you xx

Coffeecup01 · 21/05/2020 15:05

@yellowbelliedcreature that gives me hope thank you. I apologise if this is too personal a question, but what was your bleeding like? Mine is sometimes red, and sometimes more brown, with some tiny bits (or clots). Its not marking pads, or undewear, and is only when i wipe now. I'm going crazy with it all. I took a test earlier to see if perhaps the line would be getting fainter, but it's darker now than ever. I still feel pregnant too, but that may just be wishful thinking.

yellowbelliedcreature · 21/05/2020 15:37

@Coffeecup01 I promise I’ve been there. It’s bloody hard. You can’t get away from the worry Sad it was mostly a sort of rust colour - usually mixed in CM but around 12 weeks it was much more watery. I can’t remember having clots as such. I do remember that every medical professional I saw (and that was a lot) was very chilled about the whole thing and said it’s very common.

I don’t want to give you false hope either - obviously it can go either way, especially at such an early stage Sad which is why it’s such a head f*ck. All you can do is grit your teeth and get through each day. Sending lots of hugs x

yellowbelliedcreature · 21/05/2020 15:38

I’m also having very similar symptoms now when I’m TTC number two!

Coffeecup01 · 21/05/2020 15:48

@yellowbelliedcreature well I'm I'm exactly 6 weeks today, and my HGC level as of yesterday was 1371 so if it hasn't doubled or gone up significantly by friday, then I'll have my answer. I've no idea if thats a good reading or not. I'll just have to sit tight. Sorry you are having a similar experience this time. Hopefully all will be well. It's comforting to know there are others in the same boat. Positive vibes to all xx

Peppapigisevil · 21/05/2020 15:48

This happened to me. Twice Lasted a couple of days and then stopped. In my case it was an implantation bleed, both ds and dd went to full term and are now 16 and 13. I also had two miscarriages - for some reason it didn’t happen with these. Don’t know if that helps?! Fingers crossed for you xx

Mytimetogo · 21/05/2020 21:32

Hi. I had brown gunk with my first two pregnancies at 5-7ish weeks and with my 3rd (twins) had brown gunk and red blood. They're all larger than life and a bit stinky nowadays! Good luck.

NannyGR · 22/05/2020 07:58

How is everyone doing?? I got my blood results back yesterday and they have gone up by 75% which is great for a normal pregnancy, however I am still bleeding and it has got a little bit heavier so not quite out of the danger zone yet. Having a scan next Friday so keeping my 🤞
If you still have no answers I would push for some bloods, my local Early Pregnancy Unit have been fab, I self referred and they got me in quickly and get the blood results back the same day. Its hard being in the unknown so take care of yourselves ladies xx

Coffeecup01 · 22/05/2020 12:26

@NannyGR a rise is really good news. I hope the bleeding settles down for you, and the scan goes well. Keeping everything crossed 🤞 xx

Violetlilac · 22/05/2020 13:15

@NannyGR that's great news! Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I'm just playing the waiting game. I didn't have any bleeding yesterday. Been feeling crampy today and had lots of discharge but it's not bloody so just holding my breath whenever I go to the toilet and hoping to get through to next week!!

Well ladies, I had a call at half 5 with my second set of results (didn't expect them to come back on same day), and levels have gone up a lot. So having a scan on Sunday morning (wasn't expecting that either, thought it'd be next week if at all). Don't know what to think. Perhaps there is some hope. Don't want to set myself up for more heartbreak tho. 🤞🤞🤞 hope everyone is ok.

NannyGR · 22/05/2020 19:10

That's great news @Coffeecup01 keeping my fingers crossed for you, and not long to wait either!! My bleeding has got slightly heavier but not enough to fill a pad or clots so trying to keep my fingers crossed, going to be a long wait until friday!

Coffeecup01 · 22/05/2020 21:51

@NannyGR get lots of rest and try not to worry. I was told as long as not as heavy as period and soaking pads, then there's lots of things that could be causing it, other than miscarriage. Sending positive vibes. Lets hope this week goes really quick X

Coffeecup01 · 24/05/2020 11:03

Well lovely ladies, I'm currently in hospital with an ectopic pregnancy. I'm so glad I pushed for a scan. Only reason I'm telling you all, is because I've had no pain and the bleeding has been light. Don't want to frighten any of you, but if you have any unusual bleeding ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS, go get checked. It's better to be safe than sorry. And the only way to tell what's really going on, is a scan. So nag if you need to. Go with your gut instinct. Stay safe ladies and I really hope all is well for everyone xxxxx

NannyGR · 26/05/2020 08:11

@Coffeecup01 I'm so sorry to hear this!! How are you doing now? Please take care of yourself.

@Violetlilac how are you doing?

I'm pretty much the same, still bleeding, no pain, feeling slightly nauseous. Just hoping Friday hurts up so I can have my scan and find out what's really going on!

tiredandemosh1 · 26/05/2020 15:22

Hi all Im 5 + 1 today and have just had some brown spotting when wiping and a very mild cramping. Looks like I need to wait and see, it's awful.
Hope everyone else is ok. So sorry @Coffeecup01 thinking of you x

Coffeecup01 · 27/05/2020 20:32

@NannyGR thanks. Feeling pretty shit tbh. But I've had a methotrexate shot and am hoping to avoid surgery. I hope everything goes well Friday xx

Coffeecup01 · 27/05/2020 20:33

@tiredandemosh1 thank you. I'm tired and sad but ok. Hope you are well too xx
