Used oven cleaner - now panicking

Hi, I cleaned my oven last week with oven pride and I wore the blue gloves provided but they ripped so I just cleaned the oven quickly with lots of water. It didn’t sting or cause any harm to my skin (normally it stings with the smallest amount). I am now panicking and wondering if I have caused harm to my baby (I am 14 weeks).

The baby will be fine. Even if it had got under your skin it's a long way from hand to uterus Smile

I don't know much about oven pride but these things usually work because they're caustic and as such are harmful to skin, soft tissue and lungs. It's not going to get into your bloodstream via your hands.

Possibly the reason it didn't sting your skin is that you used so much more water than usual (I don't think pregnancy normally causes skin insensitivity).

I think you'll be fine. I presume you washed your hands afterwards anyway, and before eating anything. You'd have likely noticed something by now if it had affected you / baby in some way.

Thank you so much for your replies @CarterBeatsTheDevil @merryhouse @allaboutleopardprint

I think by using lots of water it definitely helped my skin not to be affected. It was one of those moments afterwards of why was I so stupid! Your replied have made me feel better :)
