Does anyone have a photo of a pregnancy test BEFORE they peed on it?

Im 35 and we've just started TTC so naturally Im quite anxious that it's too late for me. We had our first proper try this cycle and at 6/7 dpo (this is an estimate from my Clue app) I had a full day of feeling nauseous but not many other symptoms other than that. (I weirdly have a lot of ulcers in my mouth which is strange for me - including a huge on on my throat :( )

Anyway, I got excited and took a Sainsburies pregnancy test last night and another this morning. (Im 10/11 dpo but have a 25 day cycle, AF is due in a couple of days). I was disappointed to see that it was negative. However, after googling pictures of positive pregnancy tests I'm now wondering if they were just very faint positives. There was a very faint blue vertical line in both of them but it was so faint I just figured it was there because that's how they were made, like it was a manufacturing line or something. Unfortunately, I've left it too long to double check - I pulled them out the bin and they both now have positive lines but that would be the case normally, right?

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had a photo of a pregancy stick BEFORE they've pee'd on them so I can see if there was ever a line there or whether I might still be in the chance of getting a BFP.

Yay congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isadora2007 · 19/05/2020 14:16

Definitely positives all round- congratulations!!!

gingerninja85 · 19/05/2020 14:32

Yay thank you! Do you think my mouth ulcers are part of it? There’s one the size of 5p on my throat and it’s really painful because my tongue rubs it when I talk or swallow

Jesus they're not faint at all 😂 you'd probably get positive on a digital with those lines!

gingerninja85 · 19/05/2020 14:45

@behappyandsmile I didn’t think the second picture would really count because they’re all out of the results window though. Do you think the 1st pic is strong enough? So tempted to use my digital test but trying to be patient 😂

I'd say so definitely! But then I'd feel bad if it doesn't come up because I've encouraged you to do it 🙈. But if it was me I wouldn't be able to resist! This is the line on my boots one same day I got positive digital if that helps you decide haha.

Congratulations OP!! They are definitely positive. Hope they get much clearer for you over the next few days!

20viona · 19/05/2020 15:12

That's definitely positive congratulations! X

juglover2008 · 19/05/2020 15:46

Congratulations

LennyPugGoat · 19/05/2020 15:49

That’s NOT a faint line! Congratulations

gingerninja85 · 19/05/2020 15:57

ooh @behappyandsmile its so tempting!! How many days were you when you did that test?

Congratulations!! Definitely looks like a positive! :)

I used the Ultra Early CB test five days before my period was due and it came back positive. I did another of those tests two days later... still positive!! Then moved to Rapid Detection CB on the day of my period... and eventually moved to the CB with weeks indicator!!

P.S. My mum was 39 when she had me! I'm currently 30 and 5+2 with my first pregnancy. My neighbour has just had a little girl naturally, and she's 42! Try not to worry too much about age :)

Oh yes they're certainly positive! I had one just like it and I'm now pinned under a sleeping 4 month old. Congratulations!

FairyLights2 · 19/05/2020 16:04

They’re definitely positive! I’m soooo happy for you. Congratulations x

gingerninja85 · 19/05/2020 16:07

Oh congratulations!! Definitely a positive!

BeHappyAndSmile · 19/05/2020 16:27

@gingerninja85 it was about 3 or 4 days before i was due on so quite early. Im very invested in this now haha

gingerninja85 · 19/05/2020 17:06

@behappyandsmile oh so a similar stage to me. Although i guess technically Im a bit behind because of my shorter cycle. I think Ive decided to do another normal test tomorrow morning and if thats clearer I'll do the digi!

@allaboutleopardprint 42! Wow! I guess I guess Ive just read so much about 35 being the big age where its gets loads harder to successfully concieve. Congrats on yours btw!

Thanks @gingerninja85!! :)

Yep, it does look a little darker this morning!

There's a brilliant book called 'Expecting Better' by Emily Oster, and it talks about the statistics between age and pregnancy - as well as lots of other things! I'm sure you'd find it interesting x

gingerninja85 · 20/05/2020 10:19

Ooh thank you. I'll take a look :)

gingerninja85 · 22/05/2020 08:54

I've got a proper positive! Yay! 4 weeks today (est)... fingers crossed it sticks!
