I’m the biggest I’ve ever been and have been losing and gaining the same 10lbs since February. Was determined to lose some weight to feel better about myself and not feel as embarrassed about post birth pictures as I was last time (18 months ago).

I’m now 8 weeks pregnant and feeling a bit hopeless. I’ve only gained 2lbs since I found out, which isn’t bad I suppose, but would love to try and lose a bit (safely / healthily).

I’ve found before that accountability and not feeling like I’m doing it alone can really help my mindset with healthy eating. Is anybody else in the same boat and wants to use this thread for some mutual support?

I've still got a stone to lose from last baby. Currently 9 weeks pregnant and haven't gained anything yet so hoping I can make it to 15/16 weeks at this weight. My problem with my first was the third trimester, my diet was 95% chocolate. Can't imagine I'll be much better in T3 this time if baby is due Christmas Day!

@Hannah9176 😂 at least no additional calories from festive alcohol?! My downfall right now is carbs; same as with the last one, I seem to crave carbs in T1 to help with morning sickness. Intermittent fasting and low carb, which have been effective for me in the past, are both out, leaving me with just calorie counting 😬

I've lost half a stone since finding out I'm pregnant but I'm a large lady and was 16st 5 when I got BFP.

I have restricted myself to 2500 calories (due to my weight and pregnancy i can have this many and still lose) and make sure i do 10k steps a day.

Oh I use my fitness pal to scan everything I eat... it can be chocolate or bad things at times but I just adjust the other things I eat to include that when my body wants it 😂

Im currently 16 weeks and since finding out I was pregnant I've lost 11lbs.
Prior to pregnancy I'd lost 1.5 stone through calorie counting. I'm not counting at the moment just having 3 meals a day, but if I'm hungry or think something sounds good I'll have it, but not too much or all of it - I guess not passing / going in the shop as much has helped too.

I would like to join - currently 8+2 with my first.

I don't think i have put on any weight since BFP, but would definitely like to control the weight gain as much as I possibly can

I found when I was pregnant that if I began to feel overweight I could eat very healthy for a week or two I didn’t gain wait. The baby took the calories and I could slim down again. If you google superfoods in pregnancy it might motivate you as they claim to make baby healthier/more intelligent. They don’t contain many calories either. Green stuff etc. Make sure you walk every day. Ultimately though try not to worry. You are creating a special little human being and if you get a bit bigger in the process it really doesn’t matter. I put the weight on after baby was born as I was tired and ate more and didn’t bother to look after myself so much. It really important to eat well and exercise then. Good luck!
