This is my first pregnancy and I'm currently 6+5. At around 3am this morning I woke up with a real dull lower back ache and tummy pains - similar to stabbing all over when you're gassy. No cramping. I then felt very nauseous to the point I had to lie my head near a toilet but couldn't be sick (assumed this one was morning sickness) but suddenly my hearing starting to fade like I was about to faint, starting sweating and I got the shivers. These faint type symptoms stayed for a good 10 mins. My husband was trying to comfort me but I couldn't even hear him. Are these symptoms alongside the nausea normal? I'd never felt anything like it. This morning my tummy is still tender and I feel faint when I move positions like standing from sitting and not even quickly. I don't feel nauseous anymore however. It's now 7am, 4 hours since it all happened. I don't know if I need a hand hold or medical help!! 👀

Please contact your early pregnancy unit ASAP. This can be normal pregnancy symptoms but could also be signs of something more sinister like an ectopic pregnancy. I don’t want to scare you & things could more than likely be ok but it’s better to be safe than sorry. They will advise you on the right course of action & may do scans, bloods etc.

Good luck Flowers

How are you doing now @RaN88? I'd second contacting the EPU if you haven't already Flowers

Hello 😊 I called the midwife and left a message but no one has got back to me yet. So I followed it up with an email as per their suggestion on the pre recorded message I got when I called. I'm feeling better this afternoon, still a dull ache in my lower tummy but not feeling faint or sick. They're not cramps it's hard to describe. A bit tender when you gently press I suppose. Lower back slightly achey on the right side. So so tired I've napped twice already (working from home so able to hide it from work!) I may call 111 if I have the same problems tonight. My husband thinks it's a blood sugar thing but whether it's high it low is another thing!

Ug, it's rubbish when they don't get back to you, same happened to me last week. Do keep pushing though.. it may well be nothing but pain on one side and feeling faint are potentially symptoms of ectopic pregnancy which can be really serious so you do need to speak to someone.

I'd call the EPU ward directly and bypass NHS 111 and your midwife.
They will have you straight in to check everything is ok.
Your symptoms just sound like you're going through the motions of early pregnancy symptoms, but I absolutely agree with pp's and get yourself checked just to be on the safe side ❤️

I really don’t mean to worry you OP but these are all similar symptoms I had when I had an ectopic pregnancy.

My fingers are crossed that this is nothing but I really think you need to speak to EPU & not wait Flowers

Update. My midwife didn't seem that concerned to be honest, when she finally got round to calling me back, my symptoms of that night had all gone. I'm still wondering why I was at the point of fainting with shakes and sweats but she said that sounds like full blown pregnancy morning sickness... Does it to anyone else!? Not been sick since, perhaps light headed and queasy randomly through the day. No urge to vomit or anything. The wait for the 12 week scan is agonising!
