When to stop fragmin injections and low dose aspirin

Hi

Bit of a specialist question and I’m setting my consultant tomorrow again for his opinion

I was put on fragmin injections and Aspirin daily to reduce risks of blood clots (I have genetic disorder that makes me more at risk). I was told to stop at 36 weeks (which I am). But I am worried it’s too early and I should continue for longer. I know you need to stop 24 hours before they can do spinal or epidural.

Anyone had differing advice?

Thanks

When are you doing the injections? I was told to do them in the evening and to only stop if I thought I was in labour. As it was labour started about 1am, went to hospital about 7am. I think they told me.12 hours though? I didn't need an epidural or anything though.

Your first sentence sums it up - specialist question. Depends entirely on what exact clotting disorder you have, other history/medical problems, what dose you’re taking. Your specialist should be able to answer all your questions, hope your appointment goes well.
