Anyone can't stand chocolate?

I'm currently 12 weeks but oh my goodness I cannot stand anything sugary or sweet I literally gagged earlier with my partner ate chocolate and that's all I could smell! Anything sweet churns my stomach!

Anyone else had this before?

Also what did you have? Would be fun to know Grin

Oh wow -it’s not nice for you if it makes you feel sick but oh how I wish I didn’t love choc in pregnancy!

BikeRunSki · 17/05/2020 21:44

I was the sane in both pregnancies. In fact I craved grapefruit juice!! I had a son and a daughter, but had an aversion to sweet stuff in both pg.

Liverbird77 · 17/05/2020 21:49

Oh I wish this was me! I do t normally like sweet stuff but I can't get enough right now!
I've gone off meat and, bizarrely, my husband had some tartare sauce on a fishcake the other day and the smell made me heave!!

DufferedUp · 17/05/2020 21:51

Me! I used to live on chocolate but can't stand it now and went off it at the start of pregnancy. I've started eating sweet things again, just not chocolate.

Rainbowchampagne · 17/05/2020 21:52

I was like that during my first trimester, then the third.... I couldn’t get enough sweets and chocolate! I was like a woman possessed! Usually I’m a savoury person, unfortunately still love sweet stuff post partum 🤦‍♀️

pinklemonaid · 17/05/2020 22:00

Oh wow nice to know some people were the same haha! I'm more savoury then sweet anyway but I loved chocolate like that would always be my go to sweet craving! With my first I still ate chocolate normally but this is my second and it's literally making me hate everything I loved 😂 haha!

Oh, I’m the total opposite too. Hate hate chocolate normally but since the second trimester started I’m addicted! Having to limit myself to 100g a day because otherwise it’s going to get out of hand Blush

Cazzy198 · 17/05/2020 22:12

I went completely off chocolate, sweets, cake, tea and coffee in the first trimester and craved salty chips and cheese crisps.

I started to sparingly eat chocolate in the second trimester and now I'm in the third I'm addicted to chocolate and couldn't care less about cheese crisps and chips.

I have no idea what I'm having but will hopefully find out soon (39+2 currently)

DressingGown87 · 17/05/2020 22:34

I absolutely love chocolate fudge cake! Had it tonight as a treat, and now I just feel sick for the first time in my pregnancy! All I want to eat is salt and vinegar crisps, and chunks of creamy Lancashire cheese!

ChocoLover7 · 17/05/2020 22:37

I was the same until about 15 weeks. Even the thought of anything sweet would make me want to throw up. Now at 27 weeks I'm addicted to chocolate and sweet stuff again. I'm having a boy!

Patchworksack · 17/05/2020 22:41

I went off chocolate and craved oranges in my first pregnancy (son) but it didn't last - I have made up for lost time ever since he was born. Grin

pinklemonaid · 17/05/2020 23:01

Haha! So it sounds like this chocolate turn off will change in a few weeks! 😂 I'm loving babybels so much can't stop wanting to eat them! Blush

Oh I wish! I don't normally have a sweet tooth at all but this pregnancy I just can't get enough chocolate, jelly sweets, ice cream, cakes etc. I've even started baking scones and crumbles....I never bake! Trying to substitute naughty treats for fruit where I can but I'm fighting a losing battle.
I'm 27 weeks with a girl.

maryd84 · 17/05/2020 23:48

I usually love chocolate but went off it completely in my first trimester. I really craved salty foods such as salt and vinegar crisps, chips, ham sandwiches. Was really craving oranges too for some reason.

I'm having a boy. Dont they say that if your having a boy you crave salty foods and if your having a girl you crave sweet foods. Dont know how true that is though🤣

So it sounds like this chocolate turn off will change in a few weeks
It might not if you’re unlucky enough to get bad heartburn and discover that chocolate makes it much worse!

loubert89 · 18/05/2020 11:26

I had a massive aversion to chocolate in my first and second trimesters. Now I'm in the third trimester, I can't get enough of the stuff.
