It's hard not being able to talk to people about this.

I'm 4 weeks 2 days. Got my BFP 10DPO and have had positive digital tests.

I'm so anxious that the pregnancy won't last. I've got the worst cold sore right now and painful swollen glands under my chin. I've had a bit of cramping on and off. I've had some pink tinged discharge the last few days.

I know there's nothing I can do and I just need to see how things go. Feeling very anxious though. I'm just hoping to get through the next 8 weeks to a healthy scan.

Any tips or thoughts welcome xxx

Hi @Violetlilac I've also just found out I'm pregnant (need to sort out a gp appointment but it's the weekend.. ) I'm also finding it really anxious having read so many stories about chemical pregnancy and miscarriage. I keep taking tests to see if they're getting darker.. I really need to stop doing them daily and do them every other day otherwise the progression is too hard to see and I panic.. Good luck with your pregnancy and I wish you a happy and healthy 9 months xx

Hi guys, I was just about to post a similar postmortem I'm exactly 6 weeks pregnant having miscarried 6 months ago and completely terrified this time. I've convinced myself I'll miscarry again my symptoms come and go, mainly sore boobs which have now disappeared, no nausea though and just tiredness. I'm also anxious about the missed miscarriage. 🤦🏻‍♀️. Praying for us all xx

Zarauk82 · 17/05/2020 07:27

Post I mean * predictive txt 🤦🏻‍♀️

loveacupoftea18 · 17/05/2020 07:40

In the same boat. I'm 6 weeks pregnant and miscarried earlier this year. Feeling very anxious, especially as most appointments are being done over the phone.

That said, I miscarried my first pregnancy and then went on to have a successful pregnancy afterwards so I am crossing everything that this will be the same!

Zarauk82 · 17/05/2020 07:57

Wish you well darling. Yes, it's especially hard when your having to speak on the phone to your midwife and don't want to sound like a nervous wreck 🤣. Xx

Pol96 · 17/05/2020 08:02

Do I just need to ring the doctors on Monday and tell them I'm pregnant?? This is my first and am trying not to get to positive just yet as its not been confirmed by the doctor.. X

loveacupoftea18 · 17/05/2020 08:05

@Pol96 yes, weirdly the GP doesn't check a thing, they just believe you! I found this strange during my first pregnancy.

They'll likely give you contact details for community midwives who will make you an appointment for your 8 week booking in but it'll be over the phone.

kirinm · 17/05/2020 08:06

One day at a time. With my DD I started bleeding at about 5w and was on and off until 18w. I had 5 miscarriages before her so I was petrified. It was only after the 20w scan that I calmed down. It was a horribly anxious time but I got through it safe and well. The second half of my pregnancy was much easier (mentally).

Pol96 · 17/05/2020 08:08

@loveacupoftea18 they don't check!? How do they know its all okay without checking..? I thought they'd do a blood test or something 😅 thank you for letting me know, the next 3 and a half weeks will go very slowly x

loveacupoftea18 · 17/05/2020 08:22

@Pol96 honestly! I went to the GP with my first pregnancy, and she just looked at me and said, "but why are you here?"

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 17/05/2020 08:26

In most places you can self refer for maternity care. Just google your local hospital or area and the community midwives.

Pol96 · 17/05/2020 10:36

@loveacupoftea18 that's so strange! We moved just before lockdown and I didn't register at the gp as I thought they'd be too busy etc with covid. So I guess I will call and sort out registration and ask to get numbers etc for the midwife.

Thanks for your help! X

kfcplease · 17/05/2020 11:34

Yeah same I self referred online. Also worrying like mad have a scan in 3 hours to put my mind at ease I feel sick I don't want to go! I'm such a nervous wreck. I don't remember being like this with my first 6 years ago it's horrible! I just want to get to the stage where I can feel the baby move and I'll feel a bit better.

Violetlilac · 17/05/2020 13:07

Aww @kfcplease I hope the scan goes well and puts your mind at ease a little! I'm considering getting a private early scan too.

I haven't changed my GP although I should because I moved... Worried about doing so though I need as little change as possible right now!! I spoke to the GP and she was great and talked me through lots of different things. She gave me the number for the midwife so I will call but am putting it off a bit as I know they don't do anything for a while and don't want to tempt fate! Think I'll feel better around 7/8 weeks.

@loveacupoftea18 no way! 🤣

So can you find local midwives etc on google? That's an idea to check. I also need to be referred to mental health team but I guess I'll speak to doctor's about that. I need to do it soon but again I'm worried about doing stuff too early!

@Violetlilac I just looked up my the maternity page on the website of the hospital i want to give birth at. It listed the community midwife contact details there, and the appointment booking line.

kfcplease · 17/05/2020 15:57

Just got back from my scan. It went well I saw a heartbeat! Nice and strong not much else to see so early but I'm measuring 2 days ahead so 6+2 today. It's so real now! We're actually having a baby omg lol I can relax a little well at least until my next private one at 9 weeks lol

Northernsoul90 · 17/05/2020 16:44

Hi ladies! @kfcplease which company did you book your early scan through? I was hoping to book one but the one local to me only does them from seven weeks (I am currently 5+3 I think) I too am very anxious... ive not really got any symptoms other than slightly sore boobs and tiredness. I had cramping last week and that has now subsided. Another thing that is worrying me is that I did a clear blue last week that said I was 1-2 weeks and then another today which said 2-3 good that the hormones are rising but apparently at this stage it should say 3 plus. I am a bit mad at myself for falling into the clear blue trap as I’ve read so much about them being unreliable etc but I now feel like I want to do another 🤦🏽‍♀️. My cycles are slightly longer than average, 31 or 32 days and I don’t ovulate until day 19 so that might be why it’s not saying 3 plus yet. Such a nerve wracking time! Xx

Pol96 · 17/05/2020 17:07

@kfcplease that's amazing! X

Northernsoul90 · 17/05/2020 17:09

Congratulations to everyone and wishing everyone happy and healthy pregnancies.. @kfcplease I bet it was amazing hearing the heartbeat! Xx

Violetlilac · 17/05/2020 17:41

@northernsoul90 I've seen lots about how unpredictable those tests are. Try not to worry the fact it has progressed is a good thing! Can you try to hold on until 7 weeks?

I think I might go for an early scan.

@kfcplease I'm so happy for you!! Xx

newmumtobe66 · 17/05/2020 18:15

I have been exactly the same as you with nerves. But feel so much better since I went for a private scan yesterday and my partner could come with me :) Sending good wishes to you

Northernsoul90 · 17/05/2020 18:39

Thank you! I think I will book in for an early scan will look into it next week.. Hopefully it will ease anxiety! Xx
