Had a swab taken 4 hours ago because I was feeling mild cramps and was pretty sure my ongoing thrush had come back. They wanted to check it was thrush and nothing else so they did a speculum and swab. When the man did it straight away it felt uncomfortable and a tiny bit painful but it was over quickly and they were very certain it was thrush given then look of things inside.

Got home. Had a shower. The slight pains in my lower tummy have now doubled. I've got no blood, but God it hurts. Baby is moving well. I wonder if he's just scratched something or ? When should I be worried ? I wish I never went in now.

Do I call back in the morning if it still hurts? I don't know if this is normal 🤷🏻‍♀️I had a swab earlier on in pregnancy and it was fine. Didn't feel a thing.

Hey, how are you feeling now?
Sounds a little odd to be honest - thrush doesn’t cause cramping in the tummy, neither does a speculum exam. I’d be concerned that something else is going on. Could be UTI, did they check urine? Could be bowel - constiptaed or any new nausea or diarrhoea? Or most importantly, could be contractions. Did they do some monitoring and check for signs of early labour when you were reviewed?
If your pain is still bad/increasing, please call back and arrange to be seen again.
Hopefully all settled down now anyway!

Eased off a little today. They checked urine and BP all fine. Checked baby, all fine. Midwives said that bad thrush can cause cramps and the Dr said he wanted to check and treat it because if it was still thrush or any infection it can cause prelabour. Really regret having it done. Should get swab results tomoz.

Baby is still kicking me nicely. Just achey still. 🤦‍♀️ But from what they checked out everything is fine. I have another midwife appointment very soon so I'll ask her what's going on if pain doesn't go after starting the treatment I've been given. My first pregnancy was so easy compared to this one. Can't wait for it to be over and have baby out and safe.
