Confused at pregnancy test results

Hi, Ive recently taken multiple pregnancy tests after feeling a little sick one day.

The first, I believe showed a very faint positive.
The second, a day later, showed negative.
A few days later, I took two more - both at the same time - they both showed negative.

I am really confused at the results and just can’t get it out of my head that I may be pregnant. I’m not at the right stage in my life to be having children so I need to know So I can look at the options.

Thank you :)

Do you have a photo? And what do you mean not at the right stage of your life? x

TeddyBeans · 13/05/2020 18:25

Sounds like a chemical pregnancy to me, op. When are you due on?

popcorndiva · 13/05/2020 18:26

It may have been a chemical pregnancy. Try again in a few days with a frer

This was a few days ago - I didn’t take a photo because I couldn’t pick the line up on camera. I still have the test and there is no line now but I imagine it disappears? X
Also, I’m 20 and still live with my parents, I definitely don’t have the resources to give a child all the love and care it needs x

I’m actually on the contraceptive pill and only bleed on my break days - I had sex just as I started on this contraception and that was around the 19th april x

The tests showing negatives were approximately three days after the faint positive x

You can't get a false positive
You can get a false negative

So... congratulations??

GherkinsOnToast · 13/05/2020 18:37

I would leave it until the weekend at the earliest and then try a different test brand.

NannyPear · 13/05/2020 18:38

It sounds very unlikely you are pregnant. The line you saw could have indicated a chemical pregnancy, or could have been an evaporation line.

TeddyBeans · 13/05/2020 18:39

After 3 days I would assume a chemical pregnancy. A viable pregnancy would result in a stronger line as time progressed

Cheesecakejar · 13/05/2020 18:41

The lines didn't disappear on my positive tests, in the nicest possible way it sounds like you have been seeing things (lines!) whilst being stressed/panicked.

Lanab2 · 13/05/2020 18:42

Thank you all, I really appreciate all the advice :) x

Hi OP, as PP said, the positive lines don't disappear. Mine is still there 5 months later.

bluebell94 · 13/05/2020 22:12

Test again in a few days, it does sound as though you're not pregnant. My positive lines never disappeared. Good luck x
