At what stage in your pregnancy did your partner stop drinking, it at all, just as a precaution in case anything were to happen / you were to go into early labour?

I'm 37 weeks this coming sunday so my DH isn't going to drink after Saturday. He likes to have a couple of beers at the weekend normally but has been stocking up on alcohol free stuff! I figured that as my mum is over 70 (and tee-total) I can't rely on her to take me at the moment if DH had had a drink so he's going to stop this weekend. Given what I've given up and gone through so far in the pregnancy (not to mention what's coming!) it's not much of a sacrifice for him, really, and he's fine with it.

Many moons ago, when we were still allowed to go to pubs and see friends, my husband was planning a boozy weekend with the boys and we’d said then to stop boozing after 36 weeks (although I think that’s probably being over cautious anyway)

He doesn’t drink at home unless we’ve got friends over so that solves that problem 🤷🏻‍♀️

My husband is not a huge drinker but he went out for his “last night out” when I was 37 weeks exactly . He was a bit nervous to go but I reassured him it would be fine. He got back at about 1am and at 1:30am my waters broke 🤣

He was drunk and we had to take an Uber to the hospital . It was really funny . Luckily ( for him , not for me) baby didn’t arrive for another 49 hours so he had time to sober up !!!

DH stopped when I was 36 weeks with DS.

About 36 weeks - he might have a beer after that but just the one so he was ok to drive.

From 37 weeks, I'm still okay with him having an odd bottle of peroni but he's also bought some zero alcohol beers too so he can pretend lol. Basically he can have a couple of alcoholic beers on a night with food and spaced out over a few hours (interspersed with 0% beers) but he's mostly going without. TBF he hasn't really been too heavy on the drink ever since I got pregnant in solidarity.

Hubby only drinks on a friday & saturday night so he had his last drink on saturday just gone at 37 weeks. So his first alcohol free weekend will be 38 weeks

I think he only had a couple of drinks throughout the pregnancy - wouldn't have accepted more after having dated an alcoholic in the past. Massive smoker though so I'm not bragging.

@MichelleOR84 a hangover on an antenatal ward would not be fun hahah x

Mine didn't. He didn't drive then and wasn't my birthing partner though so it didn't really matter. If he had been responsible for getting me to hospital, he would have done.
