Hi everyone, just wanted to reach out to any new mums going through a similar time, I'm 5+6 weeks pregnant and feeling excited but also nervous for the 12 week scan as I've lost 3 early babies and not have a full term baby yet, I'm actually having an early scan at 8 weeks so fingers crossed it's good news.

I'm not in the same position but didn't want to read and run.
Congratulations and wishing you all the best for your pregnancy! Really hope this one sticks for you OP x

Keeping my fingers & toes crossed for you. I know what loss means ... keep up your positive thoughts and stay calm as possible. I’ve had five mmcs over three year period (2 in 2019).

Have you asked for genetic testing on any of your mmcs? If you’ve had three you should be eligible. I did after my last one in Oct 2019. It’s worth considering.

Keep us all posted and warmest of congratulations 💐💐💐💐

Sazzy312 · 12/05/2020 17:56

@sel2223 thank you for your messages, yes I have everything crossed for a happy ending 😊

Hi OP.

I’m 8 wks today. Had a MMC in October. It was my 6th miscarriage although I do have 3 girls too. I cracked and booked an early scan for tomorrow. If it’s bad news I just want to know so I can move on. I find health care professionals are very dismissive of my losses because I’ve had successful pregnancies in the past. I’m dreading having to go back to the EPU if it’s bad news tomorrow.

I really hope things go well for you and you see a healthy bean at your scan. It’s the waiting that’s the hardest isn’t it? Flowers

Sazzy312 · 13/05/2020 10:13

Hi@Moo678 aww good luck for tomorrow, yes it is better to know one way or the other, yea 6 is alot to deal with emotionally were they all together or after your live births? I hope I don't have anymore I haven't got the heart for it x

Hi, i think I'd like to join this if possible?
I'm currently about 7 weeks.. I had a MMC which was discovered at my 12 week scan last August.
I've been relatively calm so far, trying to just let my body do what it can etc.. I did have an early scan last week, due to lots of pain on the left side which they thought may be ectopic.. turns out it's just a 6cm cyst on my ovary that's causing all the pain.
Now the nurses all said baby looked great (their words) and they saw a heartbeat or a flicker whatever it is.. and they showed no sign of worry at all.. but when I left I read the sheet and the measurements for it are tiny and according to Google it should be about 3mm bigger than what it measured?? Now I don't know if I'm just finding something to worry about or focusing on one tiny thing but it's really got me on edge.
Plus the agony of the cyst... ugh it's just all so emotional 😭

I've booked a private scan for a week on Sunday and I'm hoping and praying for good news.

I've been really poorly this time, a lot worse than last years pregnancy so again, I don't know if that's good??

It's definitely making me feel a bit lost in it all, I'm on another thread on here and everyone is so excited as they've never had the agony of a MC/MMC so yeh.. I just thought this thread might be better suited??

Sorry for the long post.
One of those days xx

ceebee21 · 13/05/2020 15:46

Hi All,

I had a MMC in September, plus two CP since.

I am now 7+3 - had an early scan yesterday and all was well. Measuring to date and saw a heartbeat on the screen :)

Fingers crossed for us all x

Sazzy312 · 13/05/2020 18:05

@djmbaker oh interesting, I've got a cyst too which has been giving me discomfort and was bleeding hence why I had brown discharge, they only seen the pregnancy so I gave to go back at 8 weeks to see if heartbeat, I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst, it's so heartbreaking and I think if you've never had a mmc you just don't understand the fear of going to a scan, did they say what will happen with the cyst? I wouldn't worry to much about the size I think they all grow in there own time at least you seen a heartbeat that was good news x

@ceebee21 aw congratulations, good luck with your pregnancy, at least you've had some good news so far 😊x

djmbaker · 13/05/2020 19:06

@Sazzy312 they said that it will go on its own, but I've been in loads of pain today so I don't know if that means it's going?? Or growing?? I was going to see how I do over the next few days and then ring her doc if the pain doesn't subside.

Yes, I don't want to sound dramatic but it is so stressful if you've had a MMC..the agony of a MMC is horrendous, to think everything is going well and then be told it hasn't is heartbreaking. I'm not entirely sure my partner and I were ready , even 8 months on but here we are. I'm dreading my scan, I almost don't want my partner there so he doesn't have to hear the words you know?

I'm sorry you've been through it though, it is so painful but you have to try and think positive don't you?

How are you feeling so far? Symptoms wise? xx

MariaDingbat · 13/05/2020 21:52

Congratulations all! Can I join too?

I'm currently 10+2, which is the furthest I've ever gotten after a MMC last August at 9 weeks and an early miscarriage a few months before that. I had a scare at 7 weeks and the scan showed a heartbeat (a first and I got really emotional) but was measuring 3 days behind. I've a scan on Friday for the Harmony test and I'm excited and wary in equal measure.

I'm so anxious that I have to go to the scan by myself, potentially hear bad news and then have to go out and tell my husband. Plus the whole pandemic thing isn't exactly making this a relaxing time.

I've been prescribed progesterone this time and have loads more pregnancy symptoms before, but I don't know what are actually my symptoms and what are side effects of the progesterone. It's driving me a little mad.

Thanks @Sazzy312 for starting this thread, I actually feel much better for writing all that down Smile.

MrsAmelia · 14/05/2020 06:32

@Sazzy312 - I am so pleased to read your news 💐 I was never put on progesterone myself but have read lots of positive impacts of it and results. When is your next scan, and will they scan you more frequently? I’ll keep crossing the toes and fingers for you and baby xx😊💐

Sazzy312 · 14/05/2020 12:50

@djmbaker symptoms are breast tenderness, feeling a little sick and very tired, I'm getting alot of trapped wind and discomfort due to the progesterone pessary I think :( what's your symptoms? I'm feeling alright trying to enjoy it all x yea i dont think my hubby will be able to come to scan

OP posts:
Sazzy312 · 14/05/2020 12:55

@MariaDingbat how are you finding the progesterone? Congrats on making it to 10+2 I bet it was lovely having the scan at 7 weeks to confirm heartbeat and baby ok , yes it nice to speak to others mums in similar positions x

OP posts:
Sazzy312 · 14/05/2020 12:56

@MrsAmelia 1st June I'll be 8+4 so fingers crossed all ok, no during to this virus it's only that one then the 12 weeks scan, thanks :)

MariaDingbat · 15/05/2020 13:21

The progesterone took a little getting used to to be honest. It's messy and initially gave me thrush like symptoms but that's calmed down now. It definitely changed my symptoms from day 1 which means I don't really trust what's me and what's them but I've had symptoms that aren't part of the dude effects so it's been reassuring. In general using them has been fine. Had a scan today and all is well in there, moving about and measuring a few days ahead. I'm not sure if it's the progesterone making a difference or not but I'm really glad I'm using it.

Trixtah · 15/05/2020 13:30

Hello. So happy for you. I had a MMC in January and currently 7 weeks pregnant. Got to see babies heart beat today and I am so relieved. I cried on the poor nurse! Fingers crossed for us all x

djmbaker · 15/05/2020 14:42

@Trixtah I cried too at my early scan! Literally burst into tears 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I have a feeling this may be the reaction for the foreseeable .. it's an emotional rollercoaster isn't it!
Congratulations on your scan! 🤍

Sazzy312 · 15/05/2020 14:54

@MariaDingbat congrats on having your scan and having good news, how far are you measuring now? Yea who knows if it does really help I believe it must do something and I for one am very grateful to be using it:)

OP posts:
Sazzy312 · 15/05/2020 14:56

@Trixtah congratulations on your good news! It's so nice to have a happy experience at the scans, where are you due?

OP posts:
Trixtah · 15/05/2020 18:03

Thanks @Sazzy312 Think I'm due on new years eve! Will find out properly on 12 week scan. How about you? X

Trixtah · 15/05/2020 18:10

Thanks @djmbaker it really is emotional! How are you doing? Stay positive, hope you're not in too much pain x

djmbaker · 15/05/2020 19:07

@Trixtah I'm ok, I've had this weird sense of calmness throughout it all so far which is comforting. Apart from the cyst and the measurements of the baby but I've been able to make sense of that somehow??
Whereas last year, with my MMC I had a niggle all the way through but I couldn't put my finger on what.
That of course means nothing but it's certainly helped me so far.

The pain has subsided thankfully yesterday and today but I'm still aware of an ache if that makes sense.
I have another scan in a week so I'm hoping they say the cyst has gone or at least it's smaller.

Hope your ok 🤍

djmbaker · 15/05/2020 19:10

@Sazzy312 my main symptom is really bad nausea, it's bloody awful.
My boobs are really sore and one has gone huge (I have tiny boobs naturally so it's really obvious) I've got a horrid taste in my mouth constantly and yes, very bloated with trapped wind!! We had chippy tea last night and god, my wind was horrendous 😩😩😩 it's so attractive isn't it???
BUT the worst symptom of them all is my increased sense of smell?? Anyone else?? 🤢🤢 I can smell things that nobody else can. It's driving me nuts xx
