Hello everyone,
I'm 5 weeks pregnant with a very much wanted baby.
The problem is I feel like I'm going out of my mind with anxiety. My best friend had an early miscarriage recently and I stupidly can't stop worrying that something like that will happen to me.
Writing all of this down makes me feel stupid as I know it's my own doing, but I just feel really scared and want to feel happy instead.
Does anyone have any advice to help settle my anxious brain?
Thank you x

@fs12 I'm exactly the same don't worry!

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and constantly worried I'll have a MC/something will be wrong/already is wrong - 12 weeks for a scan seems like forever! I spent the last couple of weeks thinking I'd made it up - even though the tests clearly said it was pregnant!

I think it's perfectly normal to be anxious - try and just take it a day at a time/a week at a time and eventually you'll get to that first scan!

Have no tips, sorry. But I am a few days behind you and am also constantly worrying. Exhausting isn’t it!?

Hi

I feel like the worry doesn’t go away but it honestly does get easier. I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant after 2 miscarriages and it’s not been the easiest to stay positive but every milestone makes it that bit easier. The 12 weeks scan, your midwife appoint, hearing the heartbeat etc.

In my opinion there’s not much you can do to help stop the worrying it’s always going to be there but week by week it will get better and you will eventually start enjoy being pregnant.

It's great to know it's not just me (although I wouldn't wish the worry on anyone)!
I was so excited last week but now I'm all doom and gloom.
It will be my first baby, so it's all so new. I'm waiting on a call from the midwife team, I was advised that they would call me in a couple of weeks, so i'm just waiting for that now.
I'm tempted to book a private scan at about 8 weeks, I'm not sure I can wait until 12 weeks!

Completely the same! I'm 6 days in and constantly fretting that something now going to go wrong, or already has. I have no idea how people do this, it seems to far to 12 weeks nevermind 9 months.

One piece of advice that I try to cling to is to tell yourself "I'm pregnant today" - and not obsess over the next day / week / months. I know if things do go wrong, I'd rather look back on this time and feel like I made the most of being pregnant instead of spending all my time worrying. And if it doesn't go wrong, great, I haven't spent a load of time stressing unnecessarily! Easier said than done obviously...

You are definitely right @MissHoney85 I need to just focus on the current day. Thank you x
