Spotting early pregnancy

Hello all! This is the first time I’m doing this and feels a little strange. I had a chemical pregnancy at 4 weeks on New Year’s Eve last year and was devastated. I have fallen pregnant again and am around 5 weeks today! On Thursday I felt strong cramps in my uterus areas and saw rusty coloured blood when I wiped. I called my GP who told me to call our local EPU for advice. They said they weren’t able to do anything as I wasn’t yet six weeks so the scan wouldn’t show anything. They advised me to do another test in a week to check if I was still pregnant. She also reassured me that the cramps (which only lasted about 15 mins) were normal as was the spotting. The spotting then turned into a brown discharge which went away entirely until this afternoon. It started off as brown spotting and has just turned to red. I just wanted to know if anyone had experienced this and how has it turned out? a week seems so long to wait and I’m going mad reading thread after thread.

OP there are a fair few threads with the same question, have a scan through and a read. It will no doubt put your mind at rest.
If you've stopped bleeding then it sounds (though obviously I cannot confirm) like implantation bleeding, which is super common with most women.
If you get your scan then hopefully baby and you are ok and you can relax a little!
Sending hugs! 🥰

@lockdownpregnancy that’s all I’ve been reading! I am hoping it’s just implantation bleeding but got worried when I saw red instead of brown. I won’t be able to get a scan until after six weeks which seems ages away 😭😭. Thanks for your reply 💗

If you've stopped bleeding and there is no dark red blood and no clotting I would say you're ok (again, not a doctor).
You don't have scans until after 6 weeks as it's after that time that they will be able to see a heartbeat.
I hope everything turns out ok for you 🥰🥰🥰
