Hi all,
Hope everyone is doing good. Currently I am 6 weeks pregnant but from past 3 days I am having sore throat.I don't have any other corona related symptoms thankfully. My midwife said not to take paracetamol at this stage as it's not safe.

Please suggest any good remedies as this pain of mine comes back every time I drink any cold beverage. Also, I am really concerned about the health of my baby due to infection of sore throat.

Thank you.

That’s odd my midwife had always told me paracetamol was fine it was ibuprofen we couldn’t have in pregnancy. I had often taken one tablet when I had a bad head ache in my first trimester and I’m now 37 weeks!

I find for a sore throat, hot water lemon and honey is great. I’ve found I get a sore throat often now and I think it may be hayfever, I’ve never had it before but I’m sure its common in pregnancy to get worse hayfever.

I've never heard of a sore throat being a pregnancy symptom but, like pp, I've always been told that paracetamol is fine, it's ibuprofen you need to avoid
