Hello 😊
I've searched and searched for an answer online to my question and seemingly cannot find anyone who has been in a similar position.
Hoping I have some luck here! During my first pregnancy I got an umbilical hernia and had it checked out once my son was born. I was referred to a specialist for surgery due to my age more than anything but when they saw me they said if i was to have any more pregnancies then the surgery would be undone. I think they were going down the mesh route. So we 'put a pin in it' for now and he said I should come back when I'm ready to have it.
So three years later I still have this umbilical hernia and want to try for baby number 2. The internet says this is risky? Has anyone else not had hernia repair surgery and gone on to have subsequent babies?! Did you have a normal pregnancy? I hear it's a very common thing to have gotten through pregnancy.
I do intend to have the repair surgery once I'm finished having children. I just didn't want to have it repaired for it to break to then have it repaired again?
Thanks so much for reading and any help! Xx
