Hi

Just after some reassurance I guess. I have had mild cramping over the last few weeks which the midwife said is all fine.

Today though I have had a few short twangs in my groin area. Is this normal for this stage in pregnancy?

Thanks for any help it’s been tough getting to this point so everything and anything is causing my massive anxiety.

Round ligament pain is common and sharp localised pain is normal (most of the time).
Especially when you move suddenly, laugh, cough, sneeze.
It's your muscles expanding and contracting to make room for baby!
I'm 19 weeks and have them quite a bit. I've them from around 7 weeks onwards.
If the pain gets too severe, or you become overly concerned then speak to your midwife again, or your GP to put your mind at rest 🥰🥰

Thank you - everything is just so worrying at this point and when you look online I think it makes it worse! But thank you it’s so good to be able to speak to someone.

Thanks 😊

I’m 12 weeks and I’ve had random cramps and full on like spiky pains direct to my abdomen. No idea what’s going on in there but it seems to be pretty normal. Everything is moving and stretching in there, you’re bound to feel something!

I’m at 8 + 2, also been having intermittent cramps. I’m also getting sharp twinges in my lady parts every now and then sorry if TMI.

I’ve been told it all normal Smile

Thank you - being able to speak to other people really helps. Hope you are all keeping well 😊

I believe the official term for it is 'fanny daggers'

opticaldelusion · 06/05/2020 20:42

You've got the fanny daggers, OP. Well documented pregnancy symptom.

lockdownpregnancy · 06/05/2020 21:33

Fanny daggers!!! Oh my days I'm crying 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Jadegkeaney · 06/05/2020 23:49

Oh I had them fanny daggers too! Would be when I'm laying down trying to sleep! This was about at 8 weeks too. I'm 15 weeks and it's gone now

Piggle21 · 07/05/2020 06:18

I love the term! ☺️ Glad to know it’s something that even has a name. Thank you all for the reassurance
