How many weeks/days pregnant am I?

So all the pregnancy calculator and apps I've found have given me different dates, so I'm hoping to get your opinions please. So the first day of my LMP was 4th April, I got a peak OPK on 14th April and according to my Femometer app and BBT I ovulated on the 14th. So my app has my down as 4w 6d and due 4th Jan 2021. However when I spoke to my midwife she estimated my due date at 9th Jan. Also with other calculations have have different due dates. My periods range from 23-28 and my ovulation days can vary too. But with info it'll be interesting to know what you ladies believe my due date is and how far along I actually am. Smile

Frankly at this stage its impossible to pin it down, and due dates are a guess at best. Your dating scan will give you more info on an accurate due date. But as there is only 4 days between both guesses I wouldn't worry. But with the ovulation info I'd say you are due on 5th January

Your drs, midwife etc will base it on LMP for now, and that’s the number of weeks you generally tell people for now - then at your 12 week scan they will give you a new EDD based on the baby’s size, and that will obviously take into account eg if you ovulated much earlier etc. Then you use that EDD (and no of weeks) going forward. The two obviously won’t vary by very much!

It really doesn't matter. The LMP date will assume ovulation on day 14 but sounds like you ovulate on day 10. Then time between ovulation and implantation varies by a few days across women. The scan dates will be accurate to around 5 days either side so not 100%. So really, you're due in early January and they'll use whatever your scan says at 12 weeks as the date they follow for the rest of your pregnancy. The baby will come between 37 and 42 weeks probably so end of Dec to mid Jan. They generally have their own schedule.

Thank you all for your replies. I guess I'm more interested to know how far along I am more than my due date cause I'd like to go for an early scan (due to being high risk) so I don't wanna be booking it too early and being disappointed if it's too early to hear a heartbeat.

You should go off your lmp as when you book a scan iirc they ask the date of your lmp.

My LMP was 4th April, I've calculated my due date as 9th Jan based on a 28 day cycle, and am 4+4 today. If you want a scan to see I'd say earliest you should book is 6 weeks, so next weekend (16th) ish.

It's best to go by LMP in the early stages buy that's basically just an estimate based on an average monthly cycle of 28 days with ovulation occurring on day 14.
That's what midwives and doctors will all go by before your dating scan.

Your dating scan will then work out an official EDD based on the actual measurements of the baby (this is more accurate and should tie in with when you ovulated).

My dating scan put me back 5 days from the date LMP gave me which is about right as I have longer than average cycles. There will rarely be much in it.

OP you’re obsessing over a few days of difference. I’m taking the online calculators as a guide, not gospel. If you’re looking to have an early scan I’d use the later date rather than earlier otherwise you risk nothing being seen.

I’ve had some heavy bleeding and just wanted to hear whether anyone else has experienced similar.

My last period was 1 April. I had brown watery bleeding which I assumed was implantation bleeding so I took a test. Which was a faint positive. Took a digital which said pregnant 1-2 weeks.
Then Monday I wiped and saw fresh red blood which then developed in to a heavy bleed. It’s now Wednesday and I’m still bleeding, it’s a little lighter but it’s definitely more than just spotting. From Monday it mainly comes out when I go toilet and doesn’t really come through on a pad. I’ve not noticed any clots but I have had cramps which I’ve eased with a hot water bottle.

I personally think that I have miscarried but wanted to know if any one else has experienced anything similar? I’ve been told It’s too early for EPU so just see how I am in a few days.
The uncertainty is affecting me more than the potential miscarriage itself 🤦🏽‍♀️

Any comments are welcome. The good, the bad and the ugly!

Even in IVF pregnancies they work off LMP and then the dating scan. No one will give a monkey's what your app says.
