Recommendations for slings/baby carriers

Hi, I am looking to buy a sling/baby carrier and wondered which ones everyone rated? I've been looking at the caboo slings, probably because that's the only one I've seen in the flesh as it's what my friend has. What's everyone's thoughts?

The Caboo was good for the first 5 months, after that I preferred the Ergo 360 which is more structured. I carri d regularly up to 15 months. Do you have a local sling library doing online advice? I visited one in person, tried a load on and decided which I preferred. Alternatively do you have any friends you could borrow a sling from to test?

No unfortunately there are no sling libraries near me and I only have 1 friend with a baby! My thinking was that the caboo might be more suited to younger babies but looks like they'd be good for using in the house too. I've seen a sling called freerider advertised on Facebook but I never know whether to trust adverts from Facebook!

Caboo are great for newborns. I loved mine. Then moved on to an ergo and a Tula.

I've got an infantino flip 4-in-1 carrier definitely worth having a look at. Heard good things about the Tula too

I used a fabric wrap sling for the first few months, the moved on to the ergo 360. Ds is 10 months and I use it all the time.

I had the caboo and it worked well for me

Bought a caboo and a boppy sling, basically a caboo but with a little fabric headrest and a buckle for the waist so easier to put on. It's like half the price as well!! Its popular in America, but it's just now on Amazon in the UK too! Prefer it to my caboo 100% x

Boba 4G all the way - highly recommended. Those little leg stirrups are a godsend when they’re bigger!

Hi Josie, many sling libraries are offering online support right now so you may not need to be near to one! Feel free to pm me for more info.
Personally I love the caboo! Perfect for the snuggly newborn to 5 or 6 months stage. When you want to move on to a buckled carrier or woven wrap, a sling library can help and there are online sling libraries like it's a sling thing which will be running online/postal hire even after the current situation.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I have bought a caboo on ebay so I'll see how I get on with that and look to get something more substantial once baby is older.
@AnnaBegins thanks for those tips, I'll have a look into 'sling thing' especially when looking into getting the next carrier.

Thanks for you help Smile

I love my Stokke Mycarrier and am still carrying my 17mo comfortably.

Beco Gemini is brilliant. I used it with DC from about 2 months to 3.5 years.

Mine is an IZMI which no one has ever heard of but is wonderful. (and they are currently selling on Aldi online for £35 instead of the £80 I paid!)
It's halfway between a tie-sling and a structured on, so it's incredibly easy to put on and you can carry front, back or hip. It folds very small which was great in the good old days of travelling about and I used it from about 6 weeks (when I bought it) to 18 months or more.
