6wks + 2, pregnancy test has got fainter??

Hi everyone,

I know I shouldn’t keep testing, it’s not doing me any good, but I don’t feel like I’m pregnant and it’s the only thing that reassures me I am. I have mildly sore boobs and the occasional bout of nausea (I’m not complaining, but it does make it hard to believe I’m pregnant). So I haven’t tested for a while and thought I would do one yesterday and today to use up the last two tests.

The top test was done at about 4pm yesterday and I had drunk a lot of water. The bottom one was done this morning at about 8am. I had been for a wee somewhere between 2-3am. But obviously I’m concerned as it’s fainter this morning. It’s even fainter than the control line. What should I do??

Thank you xx

I would try not to worry OP. It might just be the photo but to me the lines look the same as each other, and both are strong. I think you’re maybe interpreting it as worse than it is because you’re worried.

How far along are you? Lots of women don’t develop any symptoms at all, and in any case they don’t normally come on until 6 weeks or more. I’m 7+4 and mine are very variable.

Hope you’re ok and you can let your mind rest. Best thing for you and your baby is for you to relax as best you can. (I know it’s hard though!)

If there is only a day between tests I wouldn't worry mine were always darker last thing at night faint in morning, test can vary in dye aswell. If you are still testing have you though about maybe going for a private 7 week scan? That's what I am going to do just to make sure everything ok as could see myself as a constant tester too! Congrats btw on your BFP 😊 Is it your first?

Pregnancy tests are not designed to show progression, just to detect if there is hcg in your urine, which by those tests there clearly is...loads of factors will impact how strong the line looks and you'll drive yourself crazy trying to compare them from.one day to the next.

You are still very early on but no cramping, bleeding etc which is a great sign that everything is going well. My symptoms didn't properly kick in till I was 7 weeks (I'm now 25+3)
