Bump hasn’t grown in 5 weeks (Pic)

I took another photo today and compared it to one 5 weeks ago and it’s looks nearly identical, smaller if anything! Left was today right was 5 weeks ago.

I had a scan 2 weeks ago (32 weeks) and baby measurements had dropped marginally below the ‘average’ line on my paperwork which she had been tracking, I’ve got another scan next week, is it normal not to get visibly bigger bump wise?

Looking at the pics I think it has grown. To me it’s filled out at the top as opposed to gone out. Try not to worry, it’s great they’re keeping a close eye on you & im sure all is fine

I've just had a look back through photos and my bump didn't appear to change much in size at all from 30-36 weeks. At 36 weeks, it looks much bigger and for each week after that, too.
That said, I would definitely contact your midwife, as I would advise with any baby/bump concern. Mine always said she would rather hear about a problem that turns out to be nothing than have me worrying at home.

I think it’s the angle, you’d only really know if you were measuring the bump. If you’re concerned then call your midwife

Thanks for your replies! My next scan is Wednesday so I’ll hold out until then, you know what it’s like when you get a seed of doubt in your mind though, just good to hear it’s normal Smile

Has the baby changed position? My second was lying horizontally across my belly button for ages and it made my bump look huge. He turned head down at about 28 weeks and I actually looked smaller for a while until he grew. Measurements were always fine though and he was a chunky baby at birth.

JonHammIsMyJamm · 02/05/2020 20:51

It does look bigger but it’s hard to say, really. Measuring fundal height is the only way to know and it’s nigh on impossible to do yourself.

JimandWilson · 02/05/2020 21:01

It does look bigger, fuller.
You can settle for a few weeks and then feel like it changes daily.
Fundal height is the important measurement that your midwife will be monitoring.

Your bump looks fuller up top on second picture. When I was pregnant my jump looked smaller on some days compared to others. I got told my womb is shaped like a hammock so the baby would be towards the back when the bump looked smaller.
Not saying we're the same but it could be possible that the position of baby is making bump look smaller.
Ask at your next scan if you have any concerns regarding size.
My bump size was always smaller than it should have been. My baby was born a healthy 7lb 14oz
Take care and hope everything goes well x

Definitely looks bigger!!

Sweetpea1989 · 02/05/2020 21:24

Thanks everyone, it’s the first picture that is the one I took today, the second is 5 weeks ago, I’m 34 weeks and a midwife hasn’t measured my bump once but I guessed the scans make up for that!

It just looks like your bump has dropped a bit. Seems to be less under your boobs... Dropping is normal as baby starts to descend.

Wotsits4357542 · 02/05/2020 22:37

It looks bigger on the right pic tbh I can definatly see you’ve grown from those photos x

ilovepuggies · 02/05/2020 22:41

If you are concerned there’s no harm in voicing your worries to your midwife that’s what they are there for.

I’m sure everything is fine though.

Halo1234 · 02/05/2020 22:48

To many variable to compare that. If u arent standing with your hips and pelvic and the exact same angle. If the camera angle is different. If the baby has dropped or changed position. Do u clothes feel the same? I wouldn't worry based on these photos alone. Wait and see the growth scan.
