Cot has arrived 5 months early. Should we build it now?

We bought a cot that wasn't supposed to be available until July but it has arrived today. It's one of those cots that attaches to our bed. My fiancé wants to build it now to check it's ok and then dismantle it and if it isn't ok we still have time to return it. What would you advise?
I think we should build it nearer the time. I'm not due until October. Surely if it's faulty or missing a part we can still return it? Or am I wrong?

Personal I wouldn't just because I think I would get tired of looking at it 🙈 I completely understand why your husband wants to though.

Id put it together then taken it apart just in case any parts are missing

Check it's all there, maybe partially assemble to check its OK, then put away again. If you wait until the end of the summer to build it it's unlikely that you'll be able to return it.

I would build it to check it's ok and then dismantle it. I've just put a piece of nursery furniture to one side once and when we were ready to build it there was a broken panel and we couldn't get a replacement because it was out of stock.

I would check it’s okay. We got our bedside crib ages ago as we got a good deal and put it in the garage. But have since seen posts on MN saying it’s wobbly. I wish we had checked as it’s now too late to return and will have to get a new one if ours is also wobbly. Gonna get it out to check soon Confused

Thanks so much everyone! I'll let him build it and the dismantle it Smile
