Pregnancy

Loss of 90% of symptoms

As my nickname suggests, this is my first baby and so I have nothing to compare my experience to.

I am 10+4 today and my first scan is in 12 days time. I haven't told my friends or family about my pregnancy yet, as I want to wait until my 12 week scan and be sure all is OK first. So, I can't really chat to anyone about what I'm going through - Mumsnet has really been invaluable!

For the last 1 and a half to 2 weeks approximately, my symptoms have been here one day, less so the next (have previously been suffering with nausea, extreme fatigue, breast soreness and food aversions every day or every other day). Definitely in the last 3-4 days, my symptoms seem to have almost vanished, bar the occasional whiff of something that still makes me wretch, or sore boobs first thing in the morning.

I mean, I am pleased I feel more human, but it does make you worry.

I've heard the placenta can start taking over around this time, which might be what's happening to me, but I just wanted some reassurance from you guys to see if this sounds normal? I've had no spotting, cramping, pain etc - totally A-OK. Thoughts?

Yes it's usually totally normal, the placenta does start to take over so your hormones start to reduce. Less sickness, less boob ache etc.

I know it makes you a bit anxious, and it feels like such a long bloody wait for that scan!

Try not to worry, I'm sure everything is fine 💐

I’m exactly the same as you! I still don’t feel 100% but massive improvement on a couple of weeks back. Looking forward to my scan :)

Totally normal! Happened to me and I'm 19 weeks! I found symptoms came and went for a few weeks after about 10 weeks

Congratulations Smile

@MyFirstBaby93 I’m also pregnant with my first child 10 +4 today too and my symptoms have been the same. I only had my booking in appointment this week so don’t think my hospital appointment will be for a little while. I’ve got a private scan booked for this Sunday.

I know exactly how you feel. I know it's normal but sometimes I'm happy when I get nausea even though I bloody absolutely hate the nausea. It's like a confirmation that I crave.

@Newmummyxx chase them about the scan in case the letter has gone missing. I was told about mine on the phone and no letter has come yet.

Newmummyxx · 02/05/2020 08:58

@peachypetite Thanks I’ll give them to the middle of the week and then contact them.

Thank you so much for all of your reassurance. I have everything crossed everything is OK. Thanks
