UTI and no symptoms

I had my booking appointment blood and urine tests done and despite me pestering it took me 2 weeks to get the results. I wasn’t too worried as they told me that if there was an issue someone would contact me immediately, however I somehow fell through the cracks and nobody did. I’m a bit annoyed, but that’s not really why I’m posting.

Everything was fine, except they said I have a UTI. I have absolutely no symptoms though and I’ve had UTI’s before with no symptoms. I’ve spoken to my sisters and mum and they always know when they have one! Am I the only one, or does anyone else find this?

No, you are not the only one based on patients I see.

We have lots of urine to dip in the drs surgery (diabetic, pregnant, sexual health) & many people have no symptoms at all, but dip test indicates possibly something so we send samples to lab and they could come back positive for UTI infection even if patients don’t have any symptoms.
However, we get lots of samples from women listing lots of symptoms of UTI, urine dip is negative but we send off to lab for testing based on symptoms - negative. No infection detected despite their insistence they have a UTI- I’m sorry you were missed. MW should have informed you, glad you are finally in contact now.

Midwife was on leave and I guess these things happen sometimes, especially with processes changing etc at the moment. At least it was only a UTI! I might be a bit more proactive now though.

Thanks for the info too, at least I’m not alone
