Just got a BFP but I think I'm only 14dpo

Hi! I'm 20 and I've just found out I'm pregnant. I got a BFP on the 24/04/20 and it came up so fast and strong! Is it possible I'm further along than 14dpo? I'm new to this so how many weeks would I be?

Hope anyone can help!

You might have ovulated early or just have high hcg levels. I found out a week before me period was due

Yeah my period isn't due for like 4/5 days but I got 2 strong tests so I guess I must have ovulated early!

How do you know you're 14 dpo? Were you tracking? In an average 28 day cycle, 14 dpo would be the day your period was due. Do you have long cycles?

You can use the first day of your LMP as a guide to how far along you are.

My 14dpo tests have always come up fast and strong, with my daughter I had a fairly obvious positive at 6dpo (I track bbt so know exactly when I ovulate) it was still faint but definitely there!

Of course it’s possible to be further along but much after 14dpo and you’ll get ‘dye stealers’ meaning the test line is far far darker than the control line because it SO positive it takes the dye from the control line as the hormone is stronger

@Sel2223 I use an app to monitor my cycles etc because I just like to keep an eye on things to be extra careful! My period is due tomorrow and my cycles avg.26 days. What is LMP?

@mumma2bee20 LMP is just your last period. You can use the first day of your last period to work out how pregnant you are.
So, if you started your last period 26 days ago, you would be 26 days pregnant today.

@sel2223 ohhh yes that makes sense!! Thank you for your help!! I think after calculating I might be 3weeks and 1 day but I'm going to wait until I see the doctor to be sure!

@mumma2bee20 are you in the UK?
In most areas, you don't see a doctor at all, you just self refer to the local midwife unit who will give you a 'booking in appointment' for when you're around 8--10 weeks.
You won't get your dates fully confirmed until your dating scan around 12 weeks, they'll just use your LMP as a guide until then.

I expect it was someone being rude about you planning a pregnancy at 20. Ignore!

@sel2223 I am yes, we were going to ring family planning tomorrow aswell, I didn't realise it would be until 8weeks!

I know it's going to be tricky as we are all on lockdown at the moment.

@CodenameVillanelle I suspected so! Just trying to stay positive, as I am not in the worst position and my OH is very supportive!

I’m 15dpo today and my baby is due on the 4th Jan - we’ll be due around the same time 😊.

I've had dark lines pretty early in with both my pregnancies.
I got my BFP this weekend at 10dpo and darker 11dpo.
These are my lines this weekend. Today's one if pretty good for 11dpo.
NHS due date calculater says 7th January according to last period.
So I guess it's possible some just produce hormones early with pregnancy?

@Popcat120 I got my positive on a clear blue dye test really strong on the 24/04! It must be possible that we ovulated early etc!

Come to think of it, with my DS, his due date was 3rd October going by my dates but got put back to 25th September on 12 week scan, so Maybe I do Ovulate earlier than the app says.

This baby is due 7th Jan, according to my last period calculation, but I wonder if this baby will get put back a week too.
