Has anybody had more then one breech baby?

Just curious really. My first baby was breech my whole pregnancy until she was delivered by c section at 40+3. My second baby was head down from 20 weeks. My third baby has moved between transverse and breech but has been breech for the last few weeks (currently 36 weeks). The midwife today mentioned that I might have a "funny shaped uterus" but I'm not sure what she meant by that

My MIL had two breech babies and then a head down. It is more common for women with bicornate (heart shaped) uterus for example, which isn’t always picked up if it is quite mild.

Ah that's interesting, that must have been what the midwife meant. Thank you Bienen

I have a weird shaped uterus. One breech, and 2 very late turners. They were both breech til almost the end, then did insanely painful turns in the last week or so. I had sections booked, but once they turned I went for vbacs.

You can request a scan up til pretty late on to confirm position. Midwives were never sure with mine just by feeling, possibly because of uterus shape (?), so they always preferred me to have a late scan to check what was where!

My 1st was footling breech and so far (31weeks) this one is currently breech.

Consultant told me:

  • if you've had 1 breech more likely to have another (as your uterus has 'stretched' that way)
  • IVF pregnancies are more likely to be breech (mine are both IVF)
  • some women have a uterus shape which naturally leads to breech babies, usually nothing to worry about and not a lot you can do about it

I have a uterine septum. DS1 was head down, but next 2 were breech. 1st was a vaginal footling breech birth (came too quickly to have a CS). No 3 was ELCS.

My twins were transverse and breech so like in a cross shape inside.. then I had dc3 and he would be in the weirdest positions somewhere between transverse and breech but always different at every appointment even towards the end. Not sure if the twins left it a bit funky in there or what GrinBlush
