Hi all,

I've started spotting since Tuesday (currently 10 weeks and first pregnancy) and just don't know what to do Sad

Really worried....

How much is there? What colour? Try not to worry, easier said than done I know. Can you call your local EPU? X

Hello I’m 11wk3d and I have had some spotting, I have a small bleed in my uterus next to the baby’s sack and was told perhaps to expect this so also trying to remain calm. I had 2 massive bleeds with clots at 11 weeks with dd and she’s a healthy 3 year old so please try not to panic. Have you an Epu? Or are you meant to refer via gp? Give them a call x

Go to the hospital maternity unit - just turn up. Hopefully it’s nothing, but you immediately need checked.
They should be contactable. Midwives are NOT frontline staff.

Sopreh · 24/04/2020 10:03

Thank you all.
I got a hold of the community midwife who said a referral to the EPU has to be made through my GP. Thankfully my GP has got me in for a scan this afternoon.
Now just trying to stay calm and hoping for the best x

Sending you a handhold for your scan later. It's good they managed to get you in so quickly so hopefully you will be reassured by this afternoon! X

@Marpan. Midwives are front line staff. We care for pregnant women with covid 19, or suspected. One of my colleagues died last week from it. Don't tell me we aren't front line.

OP. EPAU are here to help with any bleeding or pain in early pregnancy. I hope all is well with your baby. Good luck for this afternoon.

In your green booklet there's numbers of people to call, ring your local hospital midwives the triage they will give you advice and ask you to come in and be monitored xx

I had this at 12 weeks, only it wasn’t spotting it was a proper gush. Baby was fine and very active.
Hand holding x

I agree! Midwives are frontline staff! We care for women with Covid 19. Hope all is well OP :)
