Boss won’t furlough/suspend until they have a medical report

Hi I’m 27 weeks pregnant and live in scotland

I’ve got moderate asthma, pectus excavatum, and taken immunosuppressants for 5 years until November 2018

I work in a care home and boss is refusing to furlough or suspend me on full pay until they have a copy of my medical report. How do I get my medical report and can they ask for this?

Can you ask your doctor to sign you off?

Ask your GP or consultant to email. Self cert sick with stress until then if you need to.

Have you received a copy of the letter for people who are supposed to shield? If so then he should accept a copy of that. If you’re just in the vulnerable category then I don’t think you can be furloughed because of that. Has your GP recommended you stop work? In which case, you would probably be better off using the standard sickness procedure.

If your doctor signs you off sick you can go onto furlough - they have said people on long term sicm can be furloughed

So I went through my care home being just as helpful!!! So in the end I sent a letter to hr confirming my return to work however I would need a signed letter confirming there exceptance of responsibility for anything that happens to me or unborn child.

I then sent photos of all medicines I take they have my name on and let them research the rest.... Within 45 min I had a response saying it wouldn't be safe for me to return to work due to the social distancing measures.

It was out of character for me however I was at a loss with there endless requests for medical evidence and my return to work!!

Doctor has signed me off but I can’t live off of £95pw. Work can’t give me admin duties to do as they have furloughed the admin staff and can’t eliminate the risk or have me work from home so no choice but to furlough me.

@Avearage that’s amazing! I’m getting my medical record sent out by the end of next week but feel guilty for wasting doctors time! And I can’t even confirm if everything is on there as things have been missed before. I don’t know how it’s laid out or if I can blank any of it off as I don’t want them knowing I have had a previous suicide attempt (lost a baby got PTSD) and suffer with anxiety and depression, I feel like I’m selling myself in a way

Can you request a doctors letter confirming the particular items you need confirming with relevant dates? I know you might have to pay but might be better than handing over your medical records x
