Hi all,
I am 9 months pregnant, due in just under 4 weeks. I am really struggling still with sickness, which can appear at any time of the day. But I am particularly struggling with acid. I have tried so many different things to calm it and they just arent working. It's really getting me down and I'm struggling day to day. Its making me not enjoy being pregnant at the moment and I just feel like I'm desperate for baby to arrive to end this, which is not a feeling I want.

For my acid I'm taking Rennie daily, eating little and often, eating foods to calm it like yoghurts and milk, eating throughout the night when I wake for the toilet, avoiding things to enhance it like spicy food and coffee.

Please someone just give me suggestions of something I can do to calm it as I cant go on like this!

I really struggled with acid as well from 37 weeks in the end I called docs who prescribed me a tablet to take once a day I done this for a week then stopped as the acid stopped so call docs and ask as there safe during pregnancy and ypu might only need to take a few to neutral things out xx

Speak to your GP, there are medicines that can be prescribed for acid such as omeprazole or ranitidine which are safe in pregnancy. This also may take the edge off the sickness if it is triggered by acid.
All the best!

Chuck the rennies and get some liquid gavascon. It was an absolute game changer when my midwife recommended switching.

Apparently rennies are actually pretty useless in general.

Thank you very much for the advice. I phoned my doctor and have just had a phone appointment, he has prescribed me omeprazole, so fingers crossed that does the trick!
