Baby hospital bag stolen

I just really need to rant right now! 40+2 pregnant and we woke up to a knock on the door this morning. Some joggers running past noticed some one has smashed my husbands car window. Once he got outside to inspect they had also done the same to my car but stolen our babies hospital bag out of my car. Thankfully the pram and car seat are still there including my things they have just taken baby items, all his hospital outfits that we spent time picking before lock down are all gone. I just feel so hurt, we tried to be organised and get everything ready in preparation. Who steals an unborn babies bag, there was nothing of value in there but it's the sentimental value.

I'm so sorry. There's no words for this - some people are absolute scum. I hope you can try to find some other outfits, I know it'll be different though.

MRSSGS · 21/04/2020 16:01

Do you have Facebook? You can try getting people to share your post to see if anyone has found it. Horrible I know but they've probs just dumped it somewhere. Try get your local paper involved to get the word out.
Hope you get it back xxx

That’s awful, you should be able to leave bags visible in cars but sadly it seems not

NicNac100 · 21/04/2020 16:02

That is disgusting I am so sorry for you, what the hell is wrong with people?! I hope you manage to find some other bits you like as much to take with you, but if you don't have time either way your baby will still have some things to wear even if it wasn't your first choice and they'll be loved so much, try not to let it stress you out too much x

Marshy86 · 21/04/2020 16:07

I just don't get how people can be ok with doing this and not feel any guilt, you couldn't see the bags where they were and nothing was in my husbands car we think they were just trying their luck and as baby changing bag is back pack style they prob thought their luck was in.

Hopefully karma will get to them - so sorry this happened to you.

quarantinevibes · 21/04/2020 16:24

Oh my gosh this is awful Sad I’d be devastated too. Like others have said can you post it on Facebook?
So sorry for you I hope you can get it sorted. Some real evil people out there.

Wallabyone · 21/04/2020 16:26

I'm so sorry, that is awful Sad With everything going on, it's horrible that you had all your lovely, organised and carefully chosen things taken. I really hope someone in your local area finds it x

sestras · 21/04/2020 16:28

That's awful! It's so shit how anyone can do that.

Someone stole my hospital bag in the hospital. Went to nicu to see my son and when I went back up to the ward, it was gone. I had put my sons first hat in there from when he was just born. I'm still gutted 8 years later.

Notverygrownup · 21/04/2020 16:31

Angry for you. What a shame!

I would go for a jog yourself down your road and around the corner. IME, stolen wallets/handbags etc are usually found emptied/dumped either in a bin, or shoved in a hedge, fairly close to the scene of the crime. They may have stopped to check the bag and then dumped it somewhere fairly close.

Thank goodness they left the pram and the car seat!

Marshy86 · 21/04/2020 17:23

Yes I've popped a status on to Facebook and made public to share, luckily we live in a village and so many people have walked past today to say they will be looking on their daily exercise. I think the worst was picking all the glass out of his car seat it just doesn't feel right, hubby has cut/ scratches his hands getting it all out but he's been amazing and sorted everything. Thankfully because I'm past due date I'm classed as vulnerable so cars getting fixed tomorrow.

If you put it on Twitter I’d be happy to share and tag the likes of Boots or Tesco to see if their customer services could help you get a new baby together quickly.

TerribleCustomerCervix · 21/04/2020 17:26

I meant a new bag.

I’m sure the baby you have brewing at the moment is perfectly adequate.

RoseGoldEagle · 22/04/2020 06:34

Oh that’s just awful I’m so sorry :-(

VivaLeBeaver · 22/04/2020 06:40

That’s awful. Give the car seat a good hoover.
