It seems wierd to complain of not feeling sick, but i just found out I'm Expecting recently, 5 weeks now, experienced no morning sickness yet 😔 with my older 2 i had quite extreme morning sickness, so from that to nothing is worrying, im thinking the worst i think you just know dont you? can't get through to the midwife just feel quite low today, very depressed, i had to tell my kids earlier than i would have liked, my youngest had additional needs and needed him to be more careful around me, ill be devastated if i have to tell them the worst. 😔, any replies appreciated

20% of people don't get morning sickness at all and the baby ends up being healthy, I m 12 weeks and had none and baby had a healthy heartbeat at my 8 week scan.

calpolatdawn · 18/04/2020 10:07

is this your first 1990s? congrats i think its more the fact i had it bad with both other babies, most midwifes might view it as a res flag.

I had morning sickness with my first 2, now 35 weeks with my third and had none with this baby Smile hopefully will be the same for you too

Redwinestillfine · 18/04/2020 10:12

I know pregnancy is slway an anxious time but it doesn't mean anything. I had hardly any morning sickness with my girl and was sick as sfov with her brother. Try to enjoy your sickness free pregnancy.

LittleBoyJuly2020 · 18/04/2020 10:12

I had my son 20 years ago and no sickness. I'm 37 now and this time I was on medication from weeks 10-18.

My nausea didn't start until 7 weeks, maybe you will get it but it'll just start later this time? I felt great at week 5 and thought I would skip the nausea again, no such luck!

Emerald89 · 18/04/2020 10:15

Apparently every pregnancy is different so just because you have had it before doesn’t mean you are a person who should get morning sickness. I don’t have any either!

QuentinWinters · 18/04/2020 10:16

I had nausea from 4 weeks with my first and 6 weeks with my second, it came on really suddenly in the middle of one night and then was constant for 6 weeks. It's still early, and morning sickness is horrible so enjoy not having it

PS I also had MS at 4 weeks with a baby I miscarried at 6 weeks so not necessarily a sign of anything in my experience

Ohnoherewego62 · 18/04/2020 10:18

I had no morning sickness at all! Awful acid in last trimester but no morning sickness the whole pregnancy

BuffaloCauliflower · 18/04/2020 10:19

My BF has has horrendous crippling sickness with no. 1,2 and 4, none with no.3. Sailed through, didn’t even know she was pregnant until 3 months. All babies equally fine. Bodies do weird things x

Cyclebird · 18/04/2020 10:19

Ended up in hospital with hyperemesis with the first, not a peep of morning sickness with the second. Congratulations OP! Flowers

1990shopefulftm · 18/04/2020 10:22

@calpolatdawn yes it's my first, my mum had terrible morning sickness with myself and my sister so I was certain I d get it but none at all. My Midwife wasn't worried about it at all.

calpolatdawn · 18/04/2020 10:25

thanks for the support and lovely messages, i just have such a horrible feeling, im gonna ask for an early scan as i had a threatened mc with ds2 at 11 weeks, i just feel so low and powerless, if i continued to test and i did have a mmc would it still show a positive test or a negative result? x

OP posts:
calpolatdawn · 18/04/2020 17:58

if i was to keep testing would it say negative if had a mmc? or would it be positive still??

OP posts:
1990shopefulftm · 18/04/2020 18:01

It could be negative because your HCG levels could be too high or it could be positive because you still had it in your system, I m afraid it won't give you an answer. Would an early private scan give you some comfort?

Chanel05 · 18/04/2020 18:19

Every pregnancy is different! Please try not to stress.

I've had a mmc and the tests still show up positive. The baby stopped growing at 8 weeks and I didn't have surgical management till 12 weeks and in all that time my morning sickness never faded. Sickness or lack of does not indicate a healthy or unhealthy pregnancy, it is a stand-alone symptom of hormones. A mmc will still pump hormones into your body from the placenta.

Moonflower12 · 18/04/2020 18:35

I've had 4 DC. I only had morning sickness with 1. All 4 viable. Not a bit of nausea with 3. Hope that's a bit of reassurance x

calpolatdawn · 18/04/2020 18:35

im. hoping for an early scan yes, if it get one i hope they aren't awkward about it.

My 8 week scan was private so they were absolutely lovely.

LH1987 · 18/04/2020 18:50

Hi, I am currently 31 weeks into a healthy pregnancy and no mornig sickness at all. Hope all is okay with you but try not to worry yourself unnecessarily about morning sickness.

calpolatdawn · 18/04/2020 19:07

thats good 1990s are private scans very expensive? thanks but its hard, i am not liking the smell of coffee though and grills so maybe some nausea,

When you say ds2 do you have two boys already, my midwife said that carrying boys can make you quite sick if the mother can’t tolerate testosterone. Could this one be a girl and that why you don’t feel sick?

nildesparandum · 18/04/2020 19:29

Both of my two are boys. When pregnant with the first one I was sick every day until 5 months. When pregnant with the second did not have a hint of sickness.I went on a short sea crossing at 2 months and was amongst the very few people not heaving all the time!

HarrietM87 · 18/04/2020 19:32

I had zero symptoms with my first pregnancy (a boy) - no sickness and felt great all the way through. Thought I was one of those lucky people who didn’t get morning sickness or preg symptoms. I’m now 11 weeks and have had constant nausea since 3.5 weeks (before I tested), awful sore boobs and acne everywhere! So it just goes to show every pregnancy is different. It’s only 2 years later so I don’t think that explains it. Just enjoy it for now!

Emmagen · 18/04/2020 19:38

I'm pregnant with number 2 at the moment and had awful morning sickness last time. This time I still feel pretty rubbish but it started at least 2 weeks later and so far has been much milder, I think by the stage I was first sick this time I'd already been given antiemetics due to tearing up my throat and vomiting a bit of blood last time.

Mostly I'm just relieved as last time was hell but I will admit that I was nervous before it kicked in!

1990shopefulftm · 18/04/2020 20:27

My private scan was £70 but you can find them cheaper.
