34 weeks today and last 10 days/2 weeks haven't been sleeping well at all due to all the usual pregnancy problems (needing to wee) but also being incredibly itchy which really only comes on at night. It's worse on my hands,in between my fingers, and generally is all over my body. No rash,no change of washing powder or shower gel.

I'm aware of Cholestasis and would like to be tested for it to rule it out,I have a midwife appt on Mon but tbh the maternity team have missed a lot of stuff and I don't fully trust them not to try and fob me off. Has anyone got any experience of being tested and who did they speak to? Thanksx

Hello, I was tested for Choleostasis recently after I phoned the GP about a rash and itchiness I had on my belly. I also had no change in washing powder or moisturiser or anything. The rash looked like an allergic reaction but the GP insisted on testing me for Choleostatis as a precaution due to being pregnant.

I never spoke to my midwife about it as I can never seem to get in touch with her, but GP was really helpful and got me in the next morning for a blood test and I had the results that night which were thankfully negative.

I was hesitant about going to the GP with all the covid madness but it was fine, I was the only person there and was in and out in 5 mins.

Hope this helps 💕

Hi,I rang the maternity assessment unit today and they actually got me in for the tests. Was in and out in an hour and they should be back tomorrow and next week. I just hope they come back negative and the itching stops. Because from what I've read, sometimes the symptoms show up before the test results as positive. Which means if the itching continues, they advise testing every week. Currently soaking in a bath with tights with porrdige oats!
