Maternity support bands - any good?

I'm 30 weeks now and have been struggling with back / hip pain for the last couple of months. It's getting gradually worse and I've still got a while to go until baby arrives. It's particularly bad if I'm more active during the day (I did some gardening today and am now in bed as I can't stand up straight).

It's not a constant pain; more like a constant ache, but it gets bad as I try to stand up or change position. I struggle to stand from the sofa, it takes me a while to get straight, and I shuffle / waddle rather than walk. I'm also struggling turn over in bed.

Has anyone tried a maternity support band? Do they work? Any recommendations for particular ones?

I'm due to see the midwife next week but keen to find a solution so that I don't spend the next 10 weeks lying on the sofa feeling useless.

I'd love to get some little jobs done around the house to make the most of lockdown, but at the moment one day of moderate activity seems to break me for the next two days.
