Hi there

I had a Medela swing last time and am debating an Elvie. Just wondered whether there are any good pumps at a cheaper price than these two? Ideally I’d like a double - thanks!

Ameda lactaline - great double pump closed system. Used it to donate to the milk bank as well as to feed my 3 little ones.

Not used it myself yet, but I've just bought the Ardo Calypso after recommendations from 3 people I know IRL

Spectra S1. I exclusively pumped for baby 1 and it was perfect

I’ve heard lots of negative reviews from the elvie - poor suction and leaking after a certain time! I have a double ameda lactaline and it’s absolutely fantastic! Plus it’s a closed system so can be bought second hand with a new hygiene kit from their website.

Apparently whilst the Elvie is good for discreetness, mobility etc, it’s suction is not as good as say, ardo calypso, Meleda swing or spectra.

I had a spectra s1 which i rated.

Depends really what your pumping objectives are. Occasional pump for relief or night out versus full time pumping or pumping during the day. Sounds like you have other children so the Elvie would be good for not being chained to sitting down?

Splash out on the elvie, it is absolutely fantastic. I can fill the container thing in about 20 mins which no other pump even comes close to.

No issues with dribbling or suction etc for me

I've got the Ardo Calypso which is a double (way better!) And found it comfortable and easy to use. I like that you can vary the suction and the speed independently of each other so you can get it right for your own let down, rather than it being pre programmed. It was cheaper than any other doubles I could find and came well recommended.

Elvie is the best. Well worth the money. I use it 4 times a day and I don't have any problems with it.
