Hi, I've got my 16 week mid wife appointment today and I've got myself really stressed they won't be able to find the heartbeat - has anyone had this and everything been ok?

Dont worry love when I went on my 16 weeks appointment they didnt even check for the heartbeat but sometimes it's hard to find it due to the placenta position aswell but dont panic these things happen x

I'm having mine today (at 17+6!) and even though the midwife is in the GP surgery seeing other women she's not gonna see me, just phone instead. So try to relax that at least you're getting checked out, there's so many other women who may have problems just won't know about it.

This is my first pregnancy, and I've got a number of other health issues that may or may not make me high risk (as I've had very little interaction with medical staff, it's not clear yet), so it's pretty scary being left to your own devices like this - although I know my local area is under huge strain due to the virus and are massively understaffed due to staff sickness and/or isolation.

I think my point is, if there is anything wrong at least you will find out. And if there isn't, then you will also get that reassurance that many of us aren't getting.
