I'm 24 weeks and mine is the same! Everyone says that you grow more hair when pregnant but I didn't realise they meant places other than your head..I've just left mine for now but I don't think it matters either way. X

ThinkPink71 · 15/04/2020 19:53

Im 36 weeks and have just left mine I could be bothered with it growing back really thick! xx

Colouringinbook · 15/04/2020 20:16

I was so hairy in my last pregnancy - hairy belly, leg hair grew super quick, hairy nipples! All fell out or went back to normal within a few months of giving birth. All my arm hair fell out which was an absolute bonus.

ELM8 · 15/04/2020 20:19

I had the same, with some really long thick hairs by my belly button which looked awful as I'm quite fair.. I was told to leave it by various people and so glad I did as it's gone back to normal by itself now (it took about three months though BlushConfused)

Chichz · 15/04/2020 21:39

I'm the same - have had dark hairs under my belly button from very early on, and a nice ring around each nipple now too Grin.

I've got PCOS and didn't know if that had made it worse maybe?

And I am leaving them - embrace it!! Haha. X

AnneLovesGilbert · 15/04/2020 21:42

Leave it be! It’ll fall out the other side. Prepare for lower back hair Grin

I grew very fond of my belly fuzz, it was like a protective layer over my baby.

I also grew decent eyebrows for the first time in my life and by some miracle they’ve stayed, not quite as full but better than pre pregnancy.

Colouringinbook · 15/04/2020 22:20

AnneLovesGilbert decent eyebrows sounds like an excellent side effect of pregnancy. Currently making the most of lockdown and growing mine out!

Goldenmother · 17/04/2020 13:32

I'm 31 weeks and I've notice this time round my belly has a lot more hair then normal but I'm just going to leave it and see what happens once I've had the baby

ejmay90 · 17/04/2020 13:35

I'm 38 weeks and have belly hair. Mentioned it to my midwife and she said it's a symptom you dont get told about. I've left it as it's not a big deal to me and sure it will go after birth

Quiffy · 17/04/2020 13:38

Yes! I have a very fuzzy belly at the moment. I've never had to actively dry my belly after a shower before... haha. It came around 12 weeks and 15+4 today, full belly fuzz from under boobs down. I'm scared to remove in case it comes back thicker

Mysocalledlifexx · 17/04/2020 14:38

My advice is leave it, i shaved mine when i had my 1st baby many years ago wish i diddnt as u have to keep doing it.
I just had my 6th and diddnt get any extra hair just thicker head hair.

Thekindyoufindinasecondhand · 17/04/2020 14:40

Yep at 24 weeks I have a hairier tum than my husband now Grin

Sereneren · 17/04/2020 14:44

Yes as a previous poster said just leave it. I shaved mine on my first and now I still have a hairy belly I have to shave.

Crackerscheesescabbyknees · 17/04/2020 14:45

I have PCOS and could give Bigfoot a run for his money anyday of the week. My legs could easily be more hairy than my Partner's, I have hair on my belly and lower back and my arse could serve as a welcome mat.

However, pregnancy doesn't seem to add to it at all. I'd take 9 months for being a wolf and normality the rest of the time over my general rug-like appearance 😂

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 17/04/2020 14:46

Are you expecting boys?

I was hairier when expecting my sons vs daughters. No idea why!

Ohnoherewego62 · 17/04/2020 14:49

Mine never went away!

Ginfilledcats · 17/04/2020 14:52

Haha I've had this too, started a bit later than you though. I've just left it as no one is seeing it anyway. Plucked one or two randomly dark and longer ones around my belly button.
Hopefully it sheds (haha) post partum. If not I'll wax it if I go on holiday (in 20neverteen at this rate)

nicolah1325 · 17/04/2020 17:27

Oh goodness I don't know if I could leave it, the past few days it's for so much worse 😂 the decent eyebrows is something I'll look forward to though 😂 i never had a hairy tummy with my first so this is new to me 😂

willowmelangell · 17/04/2020 17:40

Leave it! It's called something like 'linea negra'. It will go when you are no longer pregnant. Do not do what I did. I shaved it off. It has been there ever since. I wish I had left it alone. Too late for me, but if I can stop one mum from future problems....

Mimijo27 · 17/04/2020 17:44

I turned into a hairy beast at around 20 weeks, all over my belly and bits on my chest too. I had a slightly hairy lower belly before being pregnant but nothing like this. I caved and shaved it all off, must say I dont think it grows back any darker or thicker personally but I am very dark haired anyway. If you can put up with it then leave it, but if it really bothers you then get rid, just be prepared for the upkeep of it xx

Elouera · 17/04/2020 17:46

Does this happen to everyone??? Are you talking about ALL over your stomach, or the linea nigra line? Does it go away afterwards?

I'm only 6 weeks and never heard of people suddenly getting a hairy stomach Confused

Sereneren · 17/04/2020 18:06

Mine was like a thick line of pubes going from my belly button to my pubic area.

Thekindyoufindinasecondhand · 17/04/2020 18:46

@elouera yep all over. Happened to most people I know. Think it varies, some people's is just blonde fluff and others coarse and dark!

Meadows89 · 17/04/2020 19:08

I've got light brown fluff all over my belly - 33 weeks pregnant now. I joked about it with my midwife at my last appointment, who immediately told me to leave it alone as it will fall out by its own accord after bub is born and said if I try and remove it, it will grow back course and be there forever.

Elouera · 17/04/2020 19:09

Funny how you never see ANY hair on celebrity baby bump pics or ones in magazines!!! Hmm
