Crippling hip pain

Hello,

I'm 31+3 weeks and my hips are getting worse by the day. I'm usually in a lot of pain by the time the evening comes, I find it's worse if I'm more active so trying to take it easy. I spoke to my midwife this morning who advised me to self refer myself for physio but she said given the current circumstances of the country she said it would probably just be a telephone call. So rather then me faffing to get someone to call me, I thought I'd ask on here for any advice? Any exercise tips I can do would be greatly appreciated! I'm close to tears when it's bad on an evening, it even triggers lower back pain Sad x

Bless you, sounds awful. I didn't have spd but did have hip pai. Which hot worse post birth and I did eventually have physio 3hich was amazing. I would recommend a pregnancy pillow between your knees for sleep, which you can use to feed when baby arrives. Was a godsend for me.

If you can order one I'd get a bump support it will help. Also, sleep with pillows between your knees.

Heat pads I found helped some - but by 31 weeks I was pretty much bed bound with it and had been on crutches since 18 wks. Talk to your midwife or doctor about pain relief- my consultant let me have pretty strong stuff near the end.

Also, make sure it is clearly stated in your notes as it can make some positions when giving birth much more painful and you won't want to be over spreading your legs when giving birth/ have a midwife put her weight on your leg as you are crowning ( screamed at her for that not the actual pain of giving birth)

On the up side a week or so after giving birth it was much better.

Do as little as possible at this point.
