Lower back ache - early pregnancy

Hi,

So I'm very early 3+5 but I woke up this morning with lower back ache, I took paracetamol and it eased off but now it's back and almost is like a stingy/burning ache, it's causing me discomfort, I don't have spotting, cramps or a temp. I took paracetamol at 9pm so can't have any more now until tomorrow. Is this common in early pregnancy? Thanks to anyone in advance who replies xxx

That is so annoying why don’t you try raddox muscle ache and have a good soak in the bath? I was supposed to cook tomorrow but might give it a pass. Gonna rest of off

I think in hindsight it was one of those things I should have realised sooner, as my husband and I were actively ttc. As soon as I read pregnant on the test I immediately started thinking back and realised that the signs were there, the pain in my back, the smell of my husbands open jar of garlic paste stuff in the fridge which had never bothered me before, and other things that I probably can't even remember now. I wondered how I didn't realise sooner (would not have gone to the concert if I'd known I was pregnant at the time to be clear). At the time I put it down to standing for hours.
Just wanted to share a positive story of back pain at that point in pregnancy. My 'back pain from 4 hours standing' as I thought at the time is now our 4 and a half year old.

Tbh my back ache got worse yesterday when I was cooking. Was making a curry so took around 2 hours maybe more doing other stuff. My back was killing by the end of it. But slept it off and thought it was fine until today. So probably just stressed it thanks for sharing!

Hi @AliSxo I’m currently 13+2 and lower back pain was one of my first signs of pregnancy - before I even tested it’s what made me think I might be pregnant.
I’ve had lower back pain since day one and still having it on and off now, it varies in intensity and sometimes I wake up in the night with it it’s very common as far as I’m aware and it’s to do with ligaments stretching.

Thank you @Prettylittlelady that's so reassuring :) it was bad yesterday morning and last night but better today when I woke up, I guess it'll come and go xxxx

Woke up to it much better too. I’m trying not to stand for too long and stress it. Fingers crossed we get through smoothly these next few weeks
