34 weeks - slight pink tinge on loo roll (no pics)

Hi all,

Just wanted some advice really.

Just been to the loo and I noticed a very faint pink tinge on the loo roll after I wiped. I’ve had ‘slight’ pains (TBH felt like I’ve been in constant pain this entire pregnancy) but nothing severe or to make me worry. Did anyone else have this? I’ve read it could be my mucus plug coming away (I thought that it would be too early for this) or the baby resting on my cervix (which is a possibility as he’s head down) but no definitive answers.

If this continues the next time I go to the loo I’ll check with my midwife but just wanted to see if any one had similar experience!

Thanks in advance!

Yes!! My waters were slowly leaking. I can imagine you don’t want to bother your midwife but any leaking of fluid you should call the hospital for.
I waited, went to work for several days 🙈. I had a healthy baby boy.
Just go and get checked out, they have a great little test that can tell if you are leaking amniotic fluid.

My pink tinge was my waters too! Please call your maternity unit ASAP and they will test it :)

Thanks @Wishandwonder after you waited how long did it take to have you little Bubba? How many weeks were you?

Hi @starlightmagic really?! That’s quite exciting! How many weeks were you when this happened?

Really important to get checked for amniotic fluid ASAP because of the risk of infection.

I had this a few weeks ago, maybe about 28 weeks. Rang triage who asked a lot of questions and advised putting a pad on to check for waters leaking. Not overly concerned and it didn't happen again. I would call triage and chat through with them.

I was 36 weeks and was induced that evening :)

starlightmagic · 03/04/2020 08:40

I probably should add I had pre eclampsia and was due to be induced 3 days later at 37 weeks! As waters went early they just did it there and then, I’d had steroids for any etc

Wishandwonder · 03/04/2020 09:46

@Pregnantbam I was 38 weeks by the time I went in. I was induced straight away about 3am and he was out by 10pm. Good luck!

I’ve had this happened to me a month ago (34 weeks now) triage told me to see the GP the next day as it wasn’t an emergency. I did, and GP said it could be anything as simple as a broken capillary in a stretching uterus and since my urine sample was clear, I had no pains and baby movements were fine, she said “sometimes these small things happen for unknown reasons”. It stopped the next day and hasn’t happened again.
