11 Weeks and 4 days and I just passed a large dark brown clot

Please help. My husband and I been trying for 14 years and we recently received a BFP. Saw a hear beat at week 8 and 2 days. I am currently 11 weeks and this morning after I used the bathroom I noticed some dark brown blood on tissue. When I wiped again a quarter size blood clot came out. I do not have any pain, no cramping or anything, just seeing that just scared me a bit. I called my doctor office and left a message so hopefully I will hear from her soon. I am in need of some hope right now. My question is, has this happened to you and as a result did you go on to have a viable pregnancy?

This happened to me after my 12 week scan. I'm now 26 weeks and all is ok. They couldn't really say what it was.

Try not to panic (easier said than done) and wait to see what your doctor/hospital say.

They will usually check for a heartbeat and that your cervix is still closed.

Hugs to you OP hope all turns out ok.

I really feel for you, I know how worrying this can be. I'm currently 14+5 but have been bleeding non stop since I was 8 or 9 weeks.

My bleeding has varied from light pink to fresh red to brown. It's been heavy enough to fill a pad in seconds and it's been light enough to only show when wiping.

I've been to my Emergency Pregnancy Unit and Gynaecology multiple times with heavy bleeds, the most recent being around 3 weeks ago when I passed a black clot the size of my palm. I'll never forget the feeling, it was traumatising as I thought I'd passed my baby. They scanned me and baby was absolutely fine, waving away like he had done every other scan. They also checked my cervix too see if it were closed. It was, my understanding is if it were open, that would indicate a miscarriage.

Since this blood clot, my bleeding has almost gone, I'm now only seeing a minimal amount when I wipe. I would highly suggest getting in touch with your local EPU rather than GP if you can. Have you got a midwife, can you try googling the number for your area? My most recent visit was to gynaecology as EPU wasn't yet open. I managed to get through to them through getting the number from the answer phone for EPU. Just wanted to share my experience to show it can work out and didn't necessarily mean the worst. Thinking of you and hope everything is okay

Yes when I saw it, I panicked and I my husband had to calm me down. Today I feel much better, I have an appointment to see my doctors Monday.

Ajahd thank you for your response. With the bleeding you’re experiencing, does it make you feel dizzy?

Hi, aa other posters have said it's awful but try not to panic or worry too much. I had lots of bleeding aound 11 weeks, lots of fresh red blood for 4 days. They kept me in hospital until the bleeding and stopped and assumed I had miscarried. They wouldnt scan me when I left as I was so close to my 12 week scan, but when I had the scan there was my baby! Happy as Larry! And he is.now 6 years old. So blood doesn't always mean the worst, they to think positive and hopefully you will see your doctor soon and all will be ok.

I felt very dizzy and lightheaded through my heaviest bleed, which is when I 'produced' the clot, but I did pass quite a bit of blood at that point as well. Hope you're doing a bit better

UPDATE: Currently 15 weeks and all is fine. Had an ultrasound done and baby is doing well. Thank you, everyone, for your responses and kind words.

I've just come back to see how you're doing! That's amazing, I'm so pleased for you! I'm currently 19 weeks now, think I've been feeling baby move for around a week now, it's very bizarre but always when I'm not paying attention. Hope you're doing well ❤️

It is usually happens around 3 or 4 o’clock in the morning. Thank you once again, and many prayers and well wishes to you and your lil bundle of joy Smile.
