Is a c-section the same, or worse, (or even better?) a second time

After my 1st birth, a c-section 4 years ago, I had a red scar and ‘overhang’ for about a year afterwards, along with loss of feeling and nerve cells under my belly button. 4 years on my body got totally back to normal and prior to IVF and this PG my body looked bearable in a bikini.

If I have another c-section, what are my chances of having such a good (eventual) healing process? Has anyone had as good the second time or is it bound to be worse? I’m worried about scarring in particular and general getting back to before.

I had my second c section 9 months ago. They cut the same scar so no new scarring. Personally I found it a bit easier , but my previous one had only been 18 months earlier so still quite fresh! Not gonna lie, the overhang is worse this time but I think that's more to do with the amount of junk eaten when I was pregnant than the c section process if that makes sense. I live in a hot country and wear a bikini pretty much every week but I don't think I look good in it Grin I think that if I exercised more my body would go pretty much back to normal. I'm in my 40s too but haven't given up hope of a halfway decent bikini body! Just need to motivate myself...
Good luck!

Second was better and the recovery easier as I knew what to expect. Cut in the same place and no over hang either time, just a little bit at the end of the scar where it's like its stuck to layer underneath so makes a little dimple.
