Getting things for baby I'm self-isolation

I know there are obviously bigger problems for many people, so trying to keep perspective in all of this, however I just wondered how people are going about getting deliveries of baby supplies if their babies are due over the next couple of months?? Now that the shops are shutting and we are supposed to be self isolating...

Obviously lots of things aren't necessities and some things can wait if they have to, but in the case of a lockdown, can we still order non groceries such as car seat, cot, clothes etc and get them delivered? Will they even arrive? Not sure if those sort of deliveries are classed as essential.

My baby is due in May and getting slightly anxious that I'm not going to get these things at all if we go on lockdown , and can't bring baby home from the hospital without a car seat!

Check with the specific companies you want to order from would be the obvious answer? There is no current general answer for that.

I ordered some baby clothes off George over the weekend as I’ve not been and got them myself and I don’t really want to go to the shops. They were dispatched yesterday so it maybe worth you doing a shop online with somewhere like George now before things get more tricky.

With a baby due in a couple of months I’d personally place my orders online now and have them delivered. You need a car seat, somewhere for baby to sleep, blankets, nappies, wipes and clothing. Everything else isn’t totally essential but also make sure you get your hospital bag stuff sorted too.

I'm due July and over the last few weeks I've been sorting the immediate stuff I'll need eg a crib, pram, clothes, bibs, a few packs of nappies (not stockpiled just enough for 2 weeks). I'm going to try my absolute best to breast feed- in normal times I'm firmly in the do what's best for you camp but given the possible difficulty of getting hold of formula I'd like to try and keep what's available for those who really need it. However I've bought one tub and one bottle just in case. I'd start sorting as much as you can whilst you still can. Dont need to go crazy just get the essentials in for those first few weeks
