Strepsils during pregnancy

I've tried everything and nothing is working. I've had a sore throat for over a week and it's hurting at this point after dry coughing for days.

I'm 35 weeks and feel like for last resort I'm gonna have to take strepsils. But why is the advice not to take it ?

The dr advised me they just don't know so it was up to me if I took them 🤷🏻‍♀️ not hugely helpful I'm afraid!
I decided to take one in the night when it was keep long me up, but tried to stay away the rest of the tome
Hope you feel better soon

I've taken them when it gets really bad (e.g. just one a day) but otherwise I've tried to avoid and focused on hot drinks, Halls etc.

I was told not to.
Have you tried ginger infusion (boil slices of fresh ginger root for 10-15 minutes, add a bit of honey or sugar for sweetness)? It saved my throat numerous times in the past.
Alternative- super weird sounding, but something we used to do in my home country back in good ol' days: boil some milk with a teaspoon of butter and some crushed garlick, filter out the garlick, drink hot/warm. Can't say it tastes the best (it definitely does not), but works miracles.
