Help! Could I be pregnant?!

Hi,

Around 2nd March I started getting what I call "period boobs" sore, heavy, sensitive boobs that usually happens about 3 days before my period begins.
On 8th March I started spotting some light pink blood, it stopped after a few hours. On 9th March I also spotted again although it was dark brown. This has never happened to me before so I made an appointment with GP she straight away asked if I could be pregnant. Did a test and said negative, she said it might not be accurate because HCG wouldn't be high enough and to test again around the time of my period. She would not give me the contraceptive pill to start taking because there is a chance I could be pregnant.

I have been having some symptoms since the spotting, such as; bloating, I'm eating foods that I haven't eaten or liked in 10+ years, terrible mood swings, mild cramps, pain in my lower back, nausea at random times of the day and finally I am just so tired!😴
Period is due today and not arrived yet, I am having some mild cramps. Just wanting another's input ??

Thanks X

If you're due today why not do another test. No other way to know for sure

Percypopper · 19/03/2020 19:31

Test again

Pippa2020 · 19/03/2020 19:35

Thanks! I have some first response tests in the house ready. I've read it is best to take tests first thing in the morning? Should I wait until tomorrow morning?

OP posts:
Percypopper · 19/03/2020 19:38

I think I’d wait until the morning just because if you do one now, you’ll wonder if it was accurate

Pippa2020 · 19/03/2020 19:39

Thanks!! I'll keep this updated!

Best of luck! Please do come back and update Flowers

Salamander91 · 19/03/2020 19:48

The sore boobs and spotting could have been signs of ovulation. Good luck Flowers

Pippa2020 · 19/03/2020 19:52

My mother said that also! But I wasn't sure if it was ovulation, I've never spotted before like ever! And sore boobs usually only a few days before my period. But now cramps are throwing me off, trying not to get my hopes up! But thank you Flowers

When period is due there is no need to wait. If you were pregnant a first response would 100 per cent show up positive any time of the day

Pippa2020 · 19/03/2020 19:57

Oh okay! Well maybe I'll give one a go tonight! Thank you 😊

Sorry hun. You must just be having a messed up cycle. I've had a few of those. Horrible, but better to just accept it and aunt flo will arrive quite rapidly after that, sods law. How old are you? I'm 30 and have found my cycles have become more unpredictable

Pippa2020 · 20/03/2020 11:01

I guessed that☹️ I'm 24! This has never happened before I'm usually pretty straight forward with my cycles

OP posts:
Percypopper · 20/03/2020 11:03

Sorry to hear that OP. It could just be a hormonal blip/stress and whatnot making your period a bit late Flowers

Djc91xox · 20/03/2020 13:05

Hi everyone

Im 13 days late but I have had an irregular-ish cycle since having the implant in 2017 - however, I've been having cramps, back pain, nausea, hot flushes, I'm gassy, my skin has erupted, dry, chapped lips - to the point that they're painful and tearing, I need the loo much more than normal, I have pains in my hips and thighs, I feel exhausted and feel like I could eat a scabby horse..

I took a test just now and there's a very faint positive.. I think - I'm not sure tbh; my shopping just arrived with them so I took it straight away; I'll try again tomorrow morning I guess.?

Do you think I could be pregnant or could it be something else?

Thanks

Percypopper · 20/03/2020 13:44

@Djc91xox it’s a bit insensitive to jump onto someone else’s thread, someone who has updated to say she’s tested negative, and ask for opinions on your positive test.
If you see a line then you’re almost certainly pregnant, I don’t know what people on mumsnet can say to you? What could we possibly know that you and your test don’t ?

Djc91xox · 20/03/2020 14:05

Oh my apologies - I'm new to all this and I don't know how it works.

I thought this was a site for people to come to for support and advice.. clearly I was wrong.

Apologies if my comment offended anyone or had a negative impact.. I was just looking for some advice as I'm going through the same thing after a miscarriage and several chemical pregnancies.

Thanks

mansah2 · 20/03/2020 16:49

@Percypopper come on that was a bit too harsh don't you think?
A lot of Mumsnet users are new and do not know how this works. Please exercise some restraint in communicating that to them.
Thank you

Percypopper · 20/03/2020 17:50

Really? I just said it was insensitive of her to come and post on this thread about her positive test after the OP had a negative. I didn’t realise she was new, all I said was that it was a bit insensitive!! I didn’t exactly verbally abuse her, calling her names or anything did I? And as for her asking if she’s pregnant- she’s done the test and it came back positive...what was she looking for on this thread? All she can go on is the test she’s done, there’s nothing any of us can do to confirm or deny the result?

Percypopper · 20/03/2020 17:52

And it wasn’t like she said she was new in the post she made originally, how was I supposed to know that she didn’t know what to do?

Djc91xox · 20/03/2020 18:11

The tone of the message was off and made me feel really guilty when all I wanted was some advice as I said in my message it was a very very faint line so therefore not sure if it was a faulty test or something but I apologised and again I’m sorry for any offence caused.

Thank you @mansah2

Percypopper · 20/03/2020 18:26

You don’t need to keep apologising or feel really guilty, I just said it was a bit insensitive but then you explained that you didn’t realise you should’ve started your own thread.
That aside, I don’t understand what you’re hoping to gain from MN though because you’ve got a positive pregnancy test! Nobody on here can tell you if the test is correct or not and it’s kinda up to you whether you believe the result or not?
